On Wednesday night, Stanton connected on his 10th homer of the season, making him the seventh rookie this year to reach the double-digit mark. The 20-year-old belted No. 10 in his 47th big league game. By comparison, Justin Smoak of the Mariners has 10 homers and he's played in 86 games.
Tyler Colvin of the Cubs paces all rookies with 17, and he has played 99 games.
At 20, Stanton already is one of the strongest players in the game. Counting his Minor League numbers this season, the rookie has 31 homers in pro ball this season.
At Double-A Jacksonville, he belted 21 homers in 53 games before being promoted to the big leagues on June 23. Stanton has been out of Double-A eight weeks, and he still leads the Southern League in homers. Carlos Peguero of West Tennessee is second with 19 in 101 games.
