The Los Angeles Angels have designated 31-year old righty swinging catcher Ryan Budde for assignment. Budde played in 6 games for the Angels last season and he was 4 of 10 (.400 avg, 1.255 OPS) with 2 runs scored, 1 homer and 3 RBIs. Budde also played in 53 games in AAA-ball last season and he was 42 of 172 (.244 avg, .627 OPS) with 24 runs scored, 1 homer, 13 RBIs and 1 stolen base. Budde played in 29 games in parts of four years with the Angels and he was 7 of 33 (.212 avg, .599 OPS) with 2 runs scored, 1 homer and 4 RBIs. Budde lost his roster spot because the Angels needed it for Scott Downs.
