Angels Locker:
The Angels have signed 29-year old righty starter Daniel Cabrera to a minor league contract. Cabrera pitched in 15 games (9 starts) for the Nationals & D-Backs last season and he was 0-6 with a 6.00 ERA and a 1.98 WHIP. He has now pitched in 162 games (155 starts) in his major league career and he is 48-65 with 1 save, a 5.10 ERA and a 1.57 WHIP. His main problem has been his control as he has walked 520 batters, hit 55 of them with a pitch and he has 71 wild pitches in only 892 1/3 innings pitched. I’m thinking that the Angels will convert Cabrera to relief thinking that he might be able to keep his concentration for shorter outings.
