The Dodgers have dealt 28-year old lefty starter/reliever Dana Eveland to the Orioles for 24-year old IF/OF Tyler Henson and 22-year old lefty starter/reliever Jarret Martin. Eveland pitched in 5 games (all starts) for the Dodgers last year and he was 3-2 with a 3.03 ERA and a 1.15 WHIP. His solid pitching was likely a mirage as he has pitched in 100 games (59 starts) in his first 7 years in the majors and he is 19-24 with 1 save, a 5.52 ERA and a 1.69 WHIP. Tyler Henson is very versatile in the field and he came into last year as the Orioles’ #22 prospect according to Baseball America. Henson played in 123 games in AAA-ball for the Orioles last year and he was 111 of 449 (.247 avg, .634 OPS) with 55 runs scored, 3 homers, 36 RBIs and 9 stolen bases. He has now played in 622 games in his first six years in the minors and he is 616 of 2,338 (.263 avg, .709 OPS) with 331 runs scored, 40 homers, 277 RBIs and 75 stolen bases. Jarret Martin pitched in 31 games (18 starts) in A-ball...

Jon Paul Morosi is tweeting that the Dodgers have agreed to trade Dana Eveland to the Baltimore Orioles in exchange for a minor league pitcher and a player to be named later. A little over a year ago, I wrote a post about the Orioles potentially acquiring 28 year-old left-handed pitcher Dana Eveland. That deal was "supposed" to be for Dennis Sarfate. Today, the O's actually traded for Eveland, picking him up from the Dodgers for pitcher Jarret Martin and outfielder Tyler Henson. Not too much from what I said about Eveland last time has...
If you’re looking for full coverage of the Thursday trade that sent left-hander Dana Eveland from the Dodgers to the Orioles, you won’t find it in this edition of FanGraphs Audio, because it’s mostly managing editor Dave Cameron discussing the Angels’ twin signings of Albert Pujols and C.J. Wilson — and rhapsodizing on the virtues of brisket, too.
Just moments ago, the Los Angeles Dodgers announced that they have traded Dana Eveland to the Baltimore Orioles for Jarret Martin and Tyler Henson.
Jarret Martin will be going into his age 22 season next year, and he’s coming off a 2011 campaign in which he posted a 4.96 ERA over 110.2 innings pitched in A-ball. The 97 strikeouts speaks to his stuff, but 62 walks, 13 hit...
