Memories Of Kevin Malone:
Okay, so Andre Ethier might not be the captain of the Dodgers, but he has certainly come up big when it matters most. I believe yesterday makes four walk-off hits this year, and when added to the three he had last year, I really can't see anybody in the majors having more walk-off winners than him over that time period. Was it just me or did today's celebration really look like Ethier was getting sexually assaulted by Kemp, Martin, Hudson, and Pierre at the bottom of the pile?

James McDonald looked absolutely dominating last night, and it wasn't because anything was different about his stuff. As I said before, even when he initially struggled in the majors, he never really got hit hard. Rather, it was just a matter of McDonald giving away too many free bases to possibly be successful.
The old saying of "Pitching is about three things: location, location, location" might be a cliché, but it rings true for almost every pitcher, and McDonald is no exception.

I'm going to take credit for Mota's scoreless inning in a reasonably high leverage situation last night. Granted, he was the lone short reliever left in the pen, but he deserves some credit after I called him out earlier that day.
I would call out players more often for the benefit of the team, but it doesn't always work. Just ask Rafael Furcal.
