  I’m trying to find a link or a transcript or some sort of record that Vin Scully said on air the other day that having the All-Star Game determine homefield advantage for the World Series is a really dumb thing to do but I’m finding vapor. Oh, well. It’s a dumb thing to do and Vin Scully should out-rank the commissioner anyway. But it’s still the rule of the land so, once again, this time IT COUNTS! The Ocktober!™ implications are huge as the World Series is generally decided by which team has the homefield advantage.* I am very slowly getting to the All-Star Rosters. I don’t like to go the route of complaining about snubs (unless an Oriole was snubbed, decidedly not the case this year. Sorry, Nick) because I don’t think the basic idea behind All-Star Games in general is to reward players. These exhibitions are supposed to be for fans except the Pro Bowl, which is supposed to remind people who live in Hawaii that they have better things to do with their time than watch football because they live in paradise and look at how ****** football can be.
