Toronto Blue Jays Pitchers Strike Out Thirteen To Beat Rangers

The Toronto Blue Jays’ pitching staff struck out a whopping thirteen Texas Rangers on Friday night to lockdown their offense and win 6-1. Esmil Rogers made just his second start of the season and went four strong innings, giving up just one earned run while striking out six. The bull-pen then came in to toss five shutout innings, while throwing seven strikeouts along the way. Aaron...

Toronto Blue Jays Sign RHP Chien-Ming Wang

The Toronto Blue Jays have elected to try and add some depth to their organizational pitching by signing right-handed pitcher Chien-Ming Wang to a minor league deal on Monday. While the terms were not announced, he had recently opted out of the New York Yankees organization to sign the deal. The agreement comes with a little “gift” as he is going to be making the start Tuesday...

Blue Jays shortstop Munenori Kawasaki signs autographs, makes jokes (VIDEO)

Blue Jays shortstop Munenori Kawasaki is known as an all-glove, no stick shortstop.  You can also add all-funny to his repertoire.  While signing autographs before Sunday’s game, Kawasaki used his normal bit telling fans that he is from Japan.  But he then went into saying that now he’s a “Canuck” and belting out a few bars of “O’ Canada.” Note to the Toronto sports...

All Canada is good for is some random dick jokes

Today, Roobs told me that the Toronto Blue Jays’ next starting pitchers were going to be Josh Johnson, R.A. Dickey and Chien-Ming Wang.  You don’t have to have that much of a sense of humor to realize the trend.  Naturally, I decided to look it up for myself because this level of serendipity doesn’t happen that often. It seems that Johnson did start yesterday, and Dickey...

The Toronto Blue Jays have started 11 different pitchers this season and as reported last week Chien-Ming Wang has signed with the Jays and will start the game against the Chicago White Sox,  making him the 12th. The Blue Jays are only guaranteeing one start for the two-time 19 game winner, but would be more than happy to give him more based on his performance.“We hope he makes...

Toronto Blue Jays had a wild weekend

The Toronto Blue Jays experienced a rather wild weekend when you know what the team went through.  Toronto played in an 18 inning marathon on Saturday and then had their best player thrown out in the ninth inning of Sunday’s game. Saturday’s game against the Texas Rangers made headlines in the world of sports.  In fact, when I went to MLB.com on Sunday,  there where two articles...

Blue Jays-White Sox Preview

The Toronto Blue Jays could really use a lengthy outing from R.A. Dickey on Monday night. Coming off his best start of the season, Dickey will try to give the Blue Jays' overworked bullpen a breather in the opener of a three-game road set against the Chicago White Sox. Toronto (27-35) saw its relievers work 20 innings while winning two of three at home over Texas this weekend...

Blue Jays beat Rangers in 18 innings

Blue Jays outfielder Rajai Davis didn't expect to put in a full day's work when he came on as a defensive replacement in the eighth inning. Three hours and 10 innings later, he sent his team home happy by delivering the winning hit. Davis drove in Emilio Bonifacio with a two-out single in the 18th inning and Toronto beat the Texas Rangers 4-3 Saturday in a game that matched...

Bisons Split Doubleheader Against Lehigh Valley

GAME 1 – 5:30 pm Buffalo, NY - It looked like a turning point for Ricky Romero.  He had retired ten batters in a row and looked like he was going to go the distance in the seven inning shortened game.  And then the sixth inning happened. Despite a rocky 6th inning, Romero showed signs of old form (photo Buffalo News) Romero allowed five runners to reach base, gave up four hits...

Marathon MLB Games Highlight Saturday’s Action

In Baseball, extra inning games aren’t exactly rare, but it is definitely uncommon to see games go into innings that get into the late teens and early adulthood, so to speak. It’s even more rare to see two games get to that point, but it happened today, June 8, 2013, when the Texas Rangers and Toronto Blue Jays went 18 innings in a 4-3 Blue Jays walk-off victory. However, not...
