The Tucson Padres had a good week for one of its final weeks of the season. In week #21 the T-Pads won four of the seven games they played.
Tucson is still sitting in fourth place in the division and will not be moving out of that position this season.
The T-Pads record sits at 52-84, this leaves them still 29 games behind the first place Sacramento River Cats. Tucson is 17 games behind the third place Fresno Grizzlies.
Tucson finished off its final home game of the 2012 season, its home record for the year was 25-46.
In its 21st week of play the T-Pads would finish off the last two games of a four game series in Fresno. After that the team would return home to play its final home series of the year, Tucson would play a five game series against the Colorado Springs Sky Sox to finish off the week.
On Monday August 20 the T-Pads pulled out a 6-2 victory over the Grizzlies.
Starting pitcher Matt Jackson recorded his second win as a T-Pad, throwing seven shutout innings after giving up only four hits. He also struck out four hitters and walked none.
He has not allowed a run in either of his starts for Tucson.
The best producers at the plate for Tucson were shortstop Anthony Contreras who went 3-5 hitting two singles, one double, scored a run and collected an RBI.
Third baseman Jesus Merchan went 2-5 hitting a single, a double and recorded and RBI.
Jedd Gyorko came into the game as a pinch hitter and went yard in the top of the eighth inning.
The T-Pads continued the momentum as it beat the Grizzles 6-0 on Tuesday August 21.
Pitcher Andrew Cashner threw two innings in his rehab start on Tuesday, giving up two hits and striking out two batters.
Pitcher Kip Wells took over after the second inning and got his second win of the season after throwing five innings, only giving up five hits and striking out one. Wells is now 2-4 on the season.
At the plate the T-Pads showed some power as three players went deep: Gyorko, Merchan and outfielder Blake Tekotte.
Gyorko and Merchan's home runs were the fourth back-to-back home runs that the T-Pads have had this season.
First baseman Vince Belnome also had a good night at the plate as he was 3-3 hitting one single, two doubles, scoring once and collected one RBI.
The Wednesday August 22 game had to be postponed due to that the Sky Sox were unable to make its flight out of Las Vegas due to weather.
The game would be made up on Friday.
Tucson was not as successful in its first game of it's final home series of the year, losing 6-4 to the Sky Sox on Thursday August 23.
Pitcher Anthony Bass threw two innings in his rehab start after having some inflammation in his right shoulder. He gave up no hits while striking out one batter.
In his first appearance as a T-Pad pitcher Ross Ohlendorf threw five innings, giving up three runs on five hits while striking out eight hitters and only walking one.
Gyorko had another good night at the plate as he went 2-5 hitting a single, a home run, scoring once and collecting one RBI.
He now has four home runs in four consecutive games.

At the plate, the T-Pads had a couple of players who contributed. Shortstop Andy Parrino went 3-4 hitting a single, a double, a triple and scored twice.
Another contributor was first baseman Matt Clark who went 2-4 hitting a single, adouble and collected one RBI.
In the second game Tucson was able to bounce back from the previous losses and beat the Sky Sox 5-4.
This game marked the debut for starting pitcher Thad Weber who threw six innings giving up four runs on seven hits while striking out six batters and walking only one. He would get a no decision on the day.
Pitcher Eddie Kunz earned his third win of the season after pitching one inning and giving up no runs on no hits while striking out two batters.

One of his singles was scored the game winning run in the bottom of the eighth inning.
In Triple-A doubleheaders on play seven innings in each game, so both games on Friday went into extra innings.

Saturday marked pitcher Bear Bay's third win of the season as he threw seven innings giving up one run on seven hits while tying his season high in strikeouts with eight.
Pitcher Jason Ray recorded his first save of the season for the T-Pads.
Gyorko was yet again a contributor at the plate as he went 1-3 hitting a home run, scoring once and collecting two RBIs.
Belnome also had a good night at the plate going 2-4 hitting a single, a home run, scoring a run and collecting an RBI.
Tucson was unable to win the series as it dropped the final game 6-1 to the Sky Sox on Sunday August 26, it was Tucson's final home game of the season.
Only two players had more than one hit each on the evening. Clark was 3-4 hitting two singles and a double.
Outfielder Daniel Robertson went 2-5 hitting two singles.
Tucson will finish off its season on the road, first heading to Salt Lake City to take on the Bees in a four game series.
The last game of the 2012 season for the T-Pads will be played on August 31 in Reno against the Aces.
