Phillies Starter Vance Worley is 4-3 with a 3.07 ERA, but is battling a sore elbow and will not make his start tomorrow.

With the Phillies winning their season-high 3rd straight game came the news that Vance Worley will be unable to make his scheduled start tomorrow.

Worley is suffering from elbow soreness and has been “scratched” from the start. Worley is 4-3 this season with a 3.07 ERA. While it is unclear if Worley will have to spend time on the DL or whether he will just skip his start, but Philly.com is reporting that Joe Savery will travel with the team to Chicago just in case.

Worley will be examined tomorrow to determine the extent of the issue. Kyle Kendrick will start in Worley’s place tomorrow.

More as the story develops.

UPDATE – The Phillies announced today that Pitcher Vance Worley has been placed on the 15 day disabled list with elbow inflammation. The move is backdated to May 12th, making Worley eligible to return on May 27th. Righty Joe Savery has been recalled from Lehigh Valley to take Worley’s spot on the roster and Kyle Kendrick will take his spot in the rotation.
