Bush League Chronicle:
Your browser does not support iframes. An errant paper airplane made its way onto the Dodger Stadium field during Friday night's game between the Phillies and Dodgers. It's not too hard to blame the culprit, though. The few Los Angeles fans who were still left by the time this happened in the ninth inning had likely grown extremely restless and bored. In fact, the airplane's tumble onto the grass near the pitching mound was very symbolic of how Dodgers pitching performed in the contest. The pitching staff coughed up a whopping 16 runs to Philadelphia's offense in a 16-1 beatdown. Thus, snapping the six-game winning streak Yasiel Puig and the Dodgers previously had entering Friday.
BEST OF MAXIM
Ron Reiring I got a chance to watch Yasiel Puig continue his remarkable run Thursday night with a 2-run single to beat the Phillies, and that was after face-planting into the outfield wall. Great rookie numbers, crashing into walls? Sounds like somebody else we know. But what do we do with this guy if he’s on our fantasy team? Ride it out and enjoy the show? Sell him high...
Yasiel Puig may have taken Major League Baseball by storm, but NL All-Star manager says the phenom still has to prove himself if he wants to play in the midsummer classic.
The Dodgers had to pay a lot to get Puig. They wanted to protect their investment so bad that even though he crushed the ball during spring training they sent him down to the minors in hopes he would mature. A bad season and injuries forced them to call him up earlier than they wanted.
And the rest has become history.
When the youngster was called up...
Bored with baseball, Yasiel Puig takes up a new sport.
Yasiel Puig ended his sensational first month in the major leagues with his first four-hit game, Stephen Fife scattered four hits over seven scoreless innings and the Los Angeles Dodgers beat the Philadelphia Phillies 6-1 Sunday.
Puig finished June with 44 hits, surpassing the 42 by Pittsburgh's Bob Elliott in September 1939 for the second-most in a player's first full calendar...
Quite obviously, the first game of the series against the San Diego Padres did not end as the Phillies, and their fans, had hoped. However, the team did rally to secure the next two games, meaning they headed into their series against the Los Angeles Dodgers with a series win....
“Kansas City is that way. That’s where I’m a lifelong fan.”Riding the red hot bat of Yasiel Puig and something that sort of resembles good pitching, the Los Angeles Dodgers have won their last 5 games to move within 5.5 games of first place in the National League West. Of course, prior to this current streak, the Dodgers had lost 6 of 7, so fans shouldn’t go giving each...
Although he may not know how to speak English, 22 year-old Cuban native Yasiel Puig has proved that he can definitely speak the game of baseball. This language barrier is not giving this fresh-faced rookie any issues marking his territory in the Dodgers’ ball club.

LOS ANGELES (AP) -- Rookie sensation Yasiel Puig singled home the tying and go-ahead runs in the seventh inning, Andre Ethier had a two-run double, and the Los Angeles Dodgers opened a four-game series against the Philadelphia Phillies with a 6-4 victory on Thursday night. Greinke (4-3) struck out five over seven innings and allowed four runs on 12 hits, including solo homers...
CBS Sports is reporting that the Red Sox are one of the teams scouting Cuban pitcher Miguel Alfredo Gonzalez.
Call it the “Puig effect”.
The Dodgers seem to have scored big when they signed Cuban outfielder Yasiel Puig for $42 million, so it’s no surprise they are in on Gonzalez as well.
However, the Red Sox have sent eight, count ‘em...
Yasiel Puig doing something remarkable is becoming so common that it hardly qualifies as news anymore.
The young Cuban phenom seems to be able to handle just about every pitch thrown to him. If he makes a play that looks bone-headed, he usually makes up for it an inning or two later by making a play that drops jaws. A hard throw to get a runner taking an extra base. A diving...
The Los Angeles Dodgers won their sixth in a row on Thursday night behind an offense that has suddenly come to life. Yasiel Puig proved he can hit the down and away slider to drive in two runs to go ahead for what would be a 6-4 victory at the hands of the Philadelphia Phillies.
The game looked like it would be lopsided after the first inning that saw the Dodgers get three hits and...
The Phillies’ short two-game win streak came to an end on Thursday with a 6-4 loss to the Dodgers in the opener of their four game set. Phenom Yasiel Puig burned them in the seventh with a two run single off Justin De Fratus just a half inning after they had taken their first lead of the game.
Jonathan Pettibone provided a quality start after struggling early, but to no avail as...
