The weather wasn't so welcoming to the Washington Nationals on Sunday. The players arrived for batting practice at Space Coast Stadium in Viera, Fla. and were greeted with temperatures in the lows 40s.So, what do major league players do when they don't feel like taking BP outside in the cold? Send in the little guy, of course.Nats players reportedly sent in Drake LaRoche, 11-year-old son of first basemen Adam LaRoche, to tell manager Davey Johnson that the guys would rather hit indoors. What exactly did Drake say to Johnson?“That they weren’t hitting,” Drake told. “They don’t hit on Sundays. They had become babies. I wanted them to hit outside so I could shag, but I had to go tell Davey."LaRoche said his son was just doing what he was there for.“That’s what he’s here for,” said LaRoche. “That’s what’s nice about having Drake around. He can do all our dirty work, so days like today when it’s freezing, we had to send him in there to talk to Davey for us. I don’t think Davey’s gonna yell at an 11-year old.”Via DC Sports Bog
