Dodgers win on Fathers Day, Gordon has been on a roll lately. I got some rumor updates for you so let me waste no time in getting you caught up on some rumors that were whispered over the weekend.

The Dodgers are the front-runners for Ryan Dempster and they may be looking to acquire him in the very near future. According to Ken Rosenthal the Chicago Cubs are shopping Dempster to multiple teams, including the Dodgers, to gauge the trade market for him. Rosenthal adds that Cubs are willing to include significant amounts of cash in hopes to land better prospects. Dempster has 10-and-5 rights, giving him the ability to veto any deal, but from the sound of things, the Dodgers would not have anything to worry about.

The Houston Astros are also willing to listen to offers on "virtually all of their players," according to Rosenthal. Jose Altuve is probably the only player not truly available, his price tag is somewhere in the neighborhood of a kings' ransom I'm sure. I see Carlos Lee being the most probable trade target for the Dodgers, if he comes at the right price.

The Dodgers are said to be completely uninterested in Manny Ramirez and Vladimir Guerrero, according to several reports. Not surprising at all, as I don't think either one of them could handle anything but a DH role at this stage of their careers. So those of you hoping to have Mannywood version 2.0, it ain't happening. As far as another Angel in our outfield, um, that's probably a really bad idea for the Dodgers at this point.

So far interest in Kevin Youkilis from teams around the league isn't all that great. Why? Well he's having the worst offensive season of his career thus far. Youkilis is also showing signs of wear and tear, leaving scouts very concerned about his ability to be healthy moving forward. Buster Olney thinks the Red Sox are going to be forced to deal Youkilis simply because of the roster crunch they are currently dealing with. Though Youkilis appears to have no trade value right now, I still think the Red Sox will move Youkilis, and Colletti is just playing wait and see, hoping the asking price will drop to a more reasonable price. For what it's worth the Red Sox were asking for Gerardo Parra from the Diamondbacks in exchange for Youkilis, according to Jack Magruder of FOX Sports Arizona.

Nick Cafardo of the Boston Globe passes on a recent quote.

"He’s been an outstanding hitter in this league for a long time. But given some of the injuries, he’s got to show that he’s completely healthy and that he can still be the same hitter he was," a veteran scout said.

Olney also is reporting that the Dodgers are asking about first basemen as they look to upgrade from James Loney but have "no reason to go crazy" finding a second base replacement for Mark Ellis, who should be returning from the disabled list sometime in July. This doesn't really surprise me. Loney has failed to be anything but a disappointment for the Dodgers in 2012, so I would expect this to be Dodgers to be active in looking for an upgrade. Ellis is a non-issue, with Elian Herrera emerging as a MLB starter, I don't think the Dodgers are too concerned right now. Plus the Dodgers have Uribe, Kennedy, and Hairston on the roster already.
