PLAYERS: Buster Olney
TEAMS: New York Yankees
Curtis Granderson was among many New York Yankees players who struggled in the postseason this past year.  One reason could have been his eye sight.  After the season ended, Granderson was sent to doctors to evaluate his eyes in hopes that the 31-year old center fielder could return to form for 2013.  New York was confident enough in him that they picked up his option, giving Granderson $15 million for the 2013 season.  Now, it seems the Yankees are willing to at least listen to trade offers for him. According to Buster Olney of ESPN, the Yankees may consider offers to free up some payroll and give them flexibility elsewhere. NYY have been open to talks about Curtis Granderson. If they move his $15m salary, it would provide more flexibility to do other things. — Buster Olney (@Buster_ESPN) December 4, 2012 Despite the eye problems, Granderson has been relatively durable when compared with other center fielders in the league.  Last season, he played in 160 games.  He played in 156 the season before that. Granderson has always struggled to hit for average, but he has become a bona-fide power threat.  Last year, Granderson hit .232/.319/.492 with 43 home runs.  He hit 41 home runs in 2011 and has hit at least 20 home runs in each of the last six seasons. Because of the power numbers, teams may be willing to overlook the low batting average and the expense contract.  However, Granderson's postseason performance is still fresh in most people's minds. He went 3 for 30 in the playoffs in 2012.
