The praise continues to come for Dodgers outfield Yasiel Puig. The Cuban rookie sensation, who has drawn comparisons to such players as Raul Mondesi, Bo Jackson, Vladimir Guerrero and Roberto Clemente, has just won the National League Player Of The Month Award for the month of June according to information now available at the Los Angeles Dodgers’ team website.
Yasiel hit .436 with 7 HR and 16 RBIs in the month of June while providing timely hitting and jaw-dropping plays out in the field. His 44 hits for the month are second all-time for a player’s first full calendar month, trailing only Joe DiMaggio’s 48 hits in May of 1936.

Yasiel Puig‘s line is .443/.473/.745/1.218 through his 27-game MLB career, which is great and all, but the most important thing he does is bat flip.
Los Angeles Dodgers rookie sensation Yasiel Puig put together a historically dominant month, and this epic highlight video proves exactly that.
Los Angeles Dodgers phenom Yasiel Puig finally found an opponent he couldn't conquer: the outfield wall at Coors Field.
Puig made a leaping catch in the fifth inning against the Rockies, colliding with the wall and falling awkwardly to the ground. He stayed in the game for that inning and had an at-bat -- a sacrifice fly -- in the top of the sixth.
However, when the Dodgers...
It's going to be awfully difficult to keep Dodgers rookie Yasiel Puig out of the All-Star Game, especially now that he has capped a brilliant start to his career by being named National League Player of the Month and Rookie of the Month for June.
Puig pulled off the double honor after an historic first month in which he hit .436 with 44 hits and a .713 slugging average in 26...

The legend of Puig continues. Whether you decide Yasiel Puig is an all-star or not, he is still must see tv. It seems each and every time he steps on the field we walk away amazed at a significant highlight that must be talked about. As usual, he didn’t disappoint us.

Yasiel Puig’s hustle plays keep paying off, even though he may not be the best defensive player in the MLB (by a long shot). Check out the great catch Puig made off of a Nolan Arenado line drive which caused Puig to slam directly into the outfield wall, somehow holding on to the ball. Slow down big fella.

Rookie Yasiel Puig has left the Los Angeles Dodgers' game against Colorado after four innings.
He started in right field and was hitless in two at-bats on Friday night. Puig's left hip has bothered him since he ran into the wall making a catch at Colorado on July 3.
Before the game, manager Don Mattingly had said Puig was experiencing soreness, but he started anyway.

Angels manager Mike Scioscia is the latest to say that Dodgers phenom Yasiel Puig is not yet deserving of an All-Star selection.
While acknowledging the talent of the 22-year-old the former big league cat catcher stated that he believed Puig’s stint in the majors was not long enough to deserve selection to the mid-summer classic.
Count Jonathan Papelbon among the Yasiel Puig haters.
Puig has taken the majors by storm since breaking into the Dodgers lineup on June 3, prompting many to trumpet his All-Star candidacy. Papelbon, frankly, thinks all this talk is ridiculous .
"To me, it's an absolute joke. It's really kind of stupid if you ask me," the Phillies closer said on MLB Network Radio...
Remember when the Dodgers acquired Manny Ramirez in 2008?
The man who’s considered by some to be the best right-handed hitter to ever play the game, who propelled the Dodgers to the 2008 NL West Championship and helped take the team to back-to-back NLCSes in 2008 and 2009, the man who found himself caught up in steroid and performance enhancing drug controversies throughout his...
Dodgers Stadium has been in a frenzy all of June over star Cuban prospect Yasiel Puig, so let’s take a look at Puig’s stats thru his first 22 games compared the other LA team’s breakout player of 2012, Angels’ Mike Trout.
There are some differences to consider: You’ll find that Puig’s first 22 games look more stout than Trout’s, however Trout really didn’t take off...
The surging Los Angeles Dodgers are back in the race thanks largely to Yasiel Puig.
The Colorado Rockies' Michael Cuddyer has turned heads of late, too.
Puig and the visiting Dodgers look to keep rolling while Cuddyer tries to extend the longest hitting streak in franchise history Tuesday night.

For one night, the conversation wasn't all about rookie sensation Yasiel Puig.
Granted, the Los Angeles Dodgers outfielder did have another stellar game, which is pretty much the standard these days. But Clayton Kershaw accomplished what few have been able to do lately - he stole some of Puig's spotlight.
Kershaw tossed a four-hitter for his second shutout of the season...
One of my favorite holidays is the 4th of July. Coming from a family of Marines, I have always been patriotic, and no single day makes you feel more proud to be American, than the 4th. For most it means a day off of work, going to the pool, cooking out, watching or setting off fireworks, and drinking some beers. This 4th of July will be pretty unique for me as I will be in San...
