MICHAEL WACHA RUMORS

Cards' late homers not enough after rain delay

Both Chad Kuhl and Michael Wacha picked up where they left off after a nearly two-hour rain delay early Saturday afternoon. While Wacha struggled on the other side of the break, Kuhl seemingly only got stronger. Kuhl pitched five strong innings and the Bucs beat up on Wacha in the second, rolling to a 6-4 win at PNC Park.

St. Louis Cardinals: Move Michael Wacha to the bullpen

Michael Wacha was originally off to a hot start in 2017. With six quality starts in his first seven outings, Cardinal fans were hopefully that Wacha may have conquered the nagging shoulder injuries that appeared to possibly derail his once promising career. Yet now, in his last six starts, Wacha has pitched over five innings just once. In those starts he is averaging just 4.1 innings...

Wacha: 'I don't understand why people keep doubting us'

JUPITER, Fla. -- Michael Wacha and the St. Louis Cardinals led the majors with 100 wins last season and won their third straight NL Central crown. So the star right-hander finds it a bit perplexing that some observers don't think the Cards can repeat."I don't understand why people keep doubting us," Wacha said Saturday. Lance Lynn’s 2015 season was as good as Michael Wacha’s

Attention all baseball card gangsters. You aren’t going to like this article. I am going to tell you how Lance Lynn’s 2015 season was as valuable as Michael Wacha’s campaign. I am not nuts. I just use a different website than you do. The evidence I will lay out may not be easy to understand if you value wins as a measurable asset of how good a starting pitcher is. On further...

Cardinals: What is wrong with Michael Wacha?

Who is this Michael Wacha on the mound in September for the St. Louis Cardinals? After making his 30th start for the Birds today in Pittsburgh and getting drilled, Wacha has a 7.00+ ERA and a WHIP near 2.00 for the month of September. He’s walked nearly as much as he has struck out. Is the kid wearing down? Is his shoulder barking? Is there something else wrong with “the kid”...

The matter with Michael Wacha (maybe)

Around the beginning of the year, the Cardinals lost Adam Wainwright, and though they just welcomed him back to the active roster, there’s no time to build him up as a starter. Around the end of the year, the Cardinals lost Carlos Martinez, and while the hope is that there’s nothing seriously wrong with his shoulder, he won’t pitch again for a while. It speaks to the Cardinals’...
