UFC Middleweight Anderson Silva

Tuesday’s UFC 148 pre-fight press conference pretty much went according to plan – middleweight king Anderson Silva (Pictured) provided pointblank responses, while Chael Sonnen unleashed his customary WWE-esque schtick. The one thing everyone inside Lagasse’s Stadium at Palazzo in Las Vegas and those streaming the presser from home were anxious to see was the archenemies squaring off after the gathering wrapped.

While the rivals didn’t make any eye contact, there was plenty of contact during the photo op. Silva was the one who initiated things by ramming his chest into Sonnen’s.

Both 185-pounders had to be held back, but “The Spider” needed to be restrained during the entire face-off. Even when they were asked to turn forward for pictures, Silva continued to stare and charge towards Chael P.

At the end of the melee, Silva got really close to his mortal enemy’s mug and either tried to whisper something or kiss Sonnen on the cheek. In any event, Saturday should be tons of fun.

MGM Grand Garden Arena in Nevada hosts the highy-anticipated rematch.

Chael Sonnen: Boxing is a ‘phony sport’

Chael Sonnen may be a big talker who runs his mouth for attention, but he also cuts through the b.s. sometimes and gets straight to the truth. During an interview with the LA Times, Sonnen was asked how he can have so many losses and still be a title contender. His answer outlined a stark contrast between boxing and MMA. “If I was a bully or a coward, I could’ve been undefeated...

Anderson Silva vs. Chael Sonnen: Inside the Numbers

As the old adage goes, “Those who cannot learn from history are doomed to repeat it.” Or better yet, as George W. Bush once brilliantly said, “There’s an old saying in Tennessee — I know it’s in Texas, probably in Tennessee — that says, fool me once, shame on — [pause] — shame on you. Fool me — [pause] — You can’t get fooled again.” Can Chael Sonnen...
