The television ratings for “UFC on FOX: Diaz vs. Miller” were horrendous – or pretty good, depending upon who you ask. According to UFC president Dana White (Pictured), their May 5th event wasn’t nearly as bad as what former Yahoo! writer Dave Meltzer claimed it to be. Although the Octagon’s third show on FOX dipped from the average of 4.7 million fans who watched “UFC on FOX: Evans vs. Davis” in January and the average of 5.7 million viewers who witnessed their November debut, White spotlighted that their latest program was tops among their key demographics and peaked at three million viewers. Furthermore, just because they came in behind re-runs of ABC’s “Shark Tank” and CBS’s “NCIS: Los Angeles,” the majority of those viewers were over the age of 55, which is years beyond the UFC’s target market. White also pointed out that their FOX broadcast beat the ratings pulled by Game 3 of the NBA Playoffs between the San Antonio Spurs and Utah Jazz on TNT. Furthermore, that was the same weekend “The Avengers” hit theaters. The blockbuster movie smashed box office records by raking in over $200 million domestically in its first three days. ‘UFC on FOX 3‘ took place inside inside IZOD Center in East Rutherford, New Jersey. The card was headlined by a lightweight shootout between Nate Diaz and Jim Miller. Please click the media player to watch White’s rant:
