Unrelated but wonderful.By now you’re probably aware that the International Olympics Committee – long known for being a bastion of integrity and morality – has decided to do away with amateur wrestling as a Summer Olympic event. And it sucks because there are dudes and young ladies around the world who busted their asses and devoted their formative years to something that they really loved. Now they’ll all probably turn to a life of crack and crime. At least that’s what TV has taught me.There are some people, though, who don’t care about who is hurt, and they just see this as a reality. Ultimately, we’re all going to have to get used to not watching amateur wrestling every four years, and guys like UFC President Dana White think that won’t be a problem because nobody was watching it anyway.“The p...

The cheater’s handbook for testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) suggests athletes are manipulating the regimen while preparing for a fight. 19-1 Dominick Cruz has been the face of the bantamweight division in the UFC and WEC for the better part of half a decade now, with his only loss coming from a Urijah Faber guillotine for the WEC featherweight title back in 2007. When he made the transition to the UFC, the then 25-year-old continued on his path of domination, defeating Urijah Faber to retain the bantamweight belt...
In the media frenzy yesterday Dana White talked about his Bantamweight Champion Dominick Cruz. “I mean, if he starts training again and gets another injury that’s going to take him out for a year, and I hate to even say this about the kid since he’s a really good kid, but he should seriously probably look at retiring.” Let’s hope the Champ can stay healthy in his rehab...
A big issue in MMA today is the judging. UFC on Fuel TV 7 was not free of this problem. There were a couple of questionable scores but none more evident than the split decision win for Matt Riddle. Riddle clearly dominated the fight with superior wrestling and control and the judge who scored it for Mills should never be allowed to be involved in an MMA event again. At least...
