When it comes to PPV events, UFC 100, held back in 2009, is universally acclaimed as the best top to bottom event in UFC history.  It still holds a company record of 1.5 million PPV buys, brought on by a card that was main event that featured Brock Lesnar vs. Frank Mir in the Heavyweight title unification bout.  Also, on that card was young light heavyweight, Jon Jones, who was beginning his rise in the UFC. UFC 168 will be headlined by the rematch for the Middleweight Championship between Anderson Silva and Chris Weidman.  The co-main event will be for the Women’s Bantamweight Championship as Ronda Rousey takes on Miesha Tate.  Dana White thinks this event has the potential to surpass the 1.5 million buys. “I think it’s going to be the biggest fight we’ve ever done. Bigger than UFC 100. On every level. Tickets, pay-per-views, everything. You’re going to see a motivated Anderson, but what makes this so much fun is, what Anderson are you going to see? How is this thing going to go? That’s such a big part of the fun.” Not sure if this event can eclipse the best in company history, but with the anticipation to see if Anderson Silva can regain his title and White being the promoter he is, don’t be shocked if the event gets close. Dana White: “Chris Weidman wants to prove it was no fluke, Anderson Silva does”

Thanks, Dana White. Thanks for backing up my previous article in saying “have you ever seen a normal Anderson interview” to one of the shook reporters at the UFC world tour. I appreciate it. I think we almost need to read between the lines of these Anderson Silva press talks and just immediately assume he’s being both 100% honest with us, and being 100% deceitful, if that makes...

Dana plays nice with Tito, Shamrocks?

November marks the 20th anniversary of the inaugural UFC event. Given the milestone, the weekend of UFC 167 on November 16 will feature plenty of commemorations of the promotion's history, and nods to the past superstars who helped build a sport.
