“Why aren’t we being taken seriously?” “No idea, bro.” In case you missed it, former UFC Light Heavyweight Champion Quinton ‘Rampage’ Jackson signed with a thing called ‘Bellator,’ which allowed him to also make appearances on a different thing called ‘Impact Wrestling.’ Similarly, another former UFC Light Heavyweight Champion, Tito Ortiz, signed with Bellator, started making appearances on wrestling and is scheduled to fight Rampage on pay-per-view on November 2. It’s a thing. When I say “in case you missed it,” the “you” is ESPN, a Worldwide Leader In Sports. Sure, ESPN has no reason to know what Impact Wrestling is — wrestling fans have no reason to know what Impact Wrestling is — but you’d figure they’d know what Bellator is, with it having been on ESPN Deportes and all. But lo, in ESPNese “UFC” is synonymous with “MMA,” so when Rampage and Ortiz went on SportsCenter to promote Bellator they were simply billed as “UFC Stars.” Whoops! Here’s a scree

Quinton ‘Rampage’ Jackson and Tito Ortiz on ESPN’s ‘MMA Live’ (Video)

With the UFC hosting two events within the span of four days this week, it’s understandable the Octagon is hoarding most of the MMA headlines. However, with Bellator MMA preparing for their first pay-per-view broadcast, they had parent company Viacom pull some strings so Quinton “Rampage” Jackson (pictured) and Tito Ortiz could go through ESPN’s “carwash” on Monday. The...

Of Course Tito Ortiz Compared The UFC To Slavery. Of Course He Did.

Of course Tito Ortiz’s kids have faux hawks. Of course they do. (via Getty Image) Tito Ortiz and Quinton “Rampage” Jackson are making their promotional rounds for their much-hyped (and after the fact) fight at Bellator’s Pay-Per-View debut in November, so it’s only natural that they’d stir the pot by taking shots at their former promotion, the UFC, to gain some free publicity...

Rampage Says He Wants To Put Bellator On The Map

Rampage Jackson and Tito Ortiz recently spoke about their upcoming fight. Here is what they had to say… Rampage on Signing With Bellator: “This is a good time right now,” Jackson said. “We just signed with Bellator, and I want to help put Bellator on the map. Why not do it with a legend with someone like Tito?” Tito on Their Relationship: “I think it’s business,”...

ESPN Promotes Wrong MMA Promotion (PHOTO)

Bellator MMA has been doing a lot to build its name and gain notoriety alongside UFC, but even the World Wide Leader is having trouble naming the second largest MMA promotion in the county.  Ahead of their fight on November 2nd at Bellator 106, Tito Ortiz and Rampage Jackson appeared on SportsCenter to promote the fight and were incorrectly labeled as “UFC Stars”. An honest...

Bellator has to be Thrilled ESPN Referred to its 'Stars' as 'UFC Stars'

Bellator MMA so hates the UFC that when it made its deal with Spike TV part of said deal was that was that said network would make like the latter didn't exist. Which leads one to wonder -- who hated ESPN referring to Tito Ortiz and Rampage Jackson as 'UFC Stars' more, the UFC or Bellator? “I thought slavery was over a long time ago.”: Tito Ortiz on Dana White's UFC

“I thought slavery was over a long time ago,” pondered Bellator MMA fighter Tito Ortiz. Later adding, “One of the biggest things now is bullying. And he’s one of the biggest bullies, I’d say, in the business. He’s a big bully.” He being Dana White. This coming from a fighter signed to a company that bullied Spike TV to drop all UFC coverage. Ok. Fellow fighting genius...

ESPN Is Living In The Past

Bellator fighters Rampage Jackson and Tito Ortiz visit ESPN’s studios in Bristol, Connecticut but someone forgot to tell the Sportscenter coordinator that these two switched promotions.  Notice the “UFC Stars in studio” in the bottom left corner.  ESPN needs to step their MMA coverage game up, especially now that FOX Sports 1 has launched as a direct competitor. Mighty Mouse...
