Our friends over at Intravid.com give us their fight picks for this weekend!
Jon Jones vs Alexander Gustafsson
Cool to see someone match him in reach and height but the wrestling is at completely different level. Jones gets takedown whenever he wants it.
Renan Barao vs Eddie Wineland
Barao is a more well rounded fighter, he is also very big for the bantamweight division which could play a factor when the two grapple. Eddie will need to land a big punch to pull of this victory, and with his power and striking skills that is definitely a possibility.
Brendan Schaub vs Matt Mitrione
Schaub is better on the ground and will be looking to take the fight there.
Constantinos Philippou vs. Francis Carmont
Both men are on a five fight winning streak in the UFC, however the level of competition for Philippou has been much higher than Carmont’s. Philippou also won decisively in those fights while Carmont squeaked out a couple of clo...

Finally, Jon Jones can begin the process of putting to rest the argument that it's his length that wins him fights. Six-foot-five opponent Alexander Gustafsson is an inch taller than the UFC light-heavyweight champ, and only a negligible three-inch reach disadvantage. In his last fight , Jones made a point of beating Chael Sonnen at his own game. Will he try to do the same with...
Jon Jones is a specimen, and an incredible martial artist, but he needs some PR work. The latest strange quote from the oft-quoted Jon Jones is him calling his haters the dumbest people ever, which is pretty narrow-minded, but maybe now he will get haters because he calls his haters dumb? It’s cyclical, this world.
Jones told MMAJunkie’s John Morgan.
“I am fake, I think everyone...
This Saturday for his fight at UFC 168 vs. Alexander Gustaffson, UFC Light Heavyweight Champion, Jon Jones, will be wearing the Gatorade logo, but he won’t be paid for it. It appears Gatorade will be testing the waters as far as sponsoring fighters. Jones will be compensated, just not financially. If things go well, he may be making good money from Gatorade for his future...
UFC 165 goes down this coming Wednesday on September 21st at the Air Canada Centre in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, featuring a main event of Jon Jones defending his light heavyweight title against Alexander Gustafsson and a co-main event that will see Renan Barao defend his interim bantamweight title against Eddie Wineland. Here are our MMAInsider.net staff picks. Feel free to […]
Hard to imagine anybody coaching Jon Jones on the wrestling mat but I guess even the best can get better. Here is Jones last night in one of his final workouts before he takes on #1 contender Alexander Gustafsson

Jon Jones goes on MTV Canada
The UFC has released the full countdown show featuring a detailed breakdown of the UFC 165 main and co-main events. The fight card is headlined by a light-heavyweight title fight between Jon Jones and Alexander Gustafsson as well as a co-main event interim title fight between Renan Barao and Eddie Wineland.
UFC 165 takes place September 21st at the Air Canada Centre in Toronto, Canada...
Jon Jones poses with the next man to try to take his belt, Alexander Gustafsson. Somehow I think that belt is going to stay on Jones’ shoulder for a long time.
Jon Jones goes on MTV Canada
Jon Jones joins Chael Sonnen on Fox Sports Live
No matter how often Dana White says Anderson Silva is taking a super fight, it isn’t happening. Not only is Silva focusing in on the middleweight division, he thinks the entire concept of a super fight is ridiculous.
Nike has come out with another shirt for the light heavyweight champion. This slogan seems pretty fitting at I think Bones will be owning the 205 lb division until his eventual move up to heavyweight.

Gustafsson at UFC office in Toronto
UFC 165 is going down tonight in the Fight Geeks own backyard of Toronto and there is a great fight card lined up for the night. Headliners Jon Jones and Alex Gustafsson are sure to put on a good show as Jones tries to break the record for most title defences by a light heavyweight. [...]
