The Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada was the setting for a rematch between two welterweight warriors. One man [Burkman]  was looking to even the score in the same building he was finished by the same opponent seven years ago; the other man [Fitch] was looking to stay relevant in the sport that made him a star. There's a lot going on here with this finish and it's one that will continue to be discussed for the rest of and beyond this calendar year. 1. It blows my mind that Steve Mazzagatti still has a job in this sport. 2. Josh Burkman is a f***ing gentleman for calling off his own fight. 3. Have we ever seen a fall from grace quite like this, Jon Fitch? 4. This is best case scenario for WSOF, they now have a legit star here with Josh Burkman that commands more attention now than he did in 2006. 5. Dude, Ray Sefo just announced that he's going to fight Mike Huckaba at WSOF 4. 6. This is the moment where the WSOF has officially arrived, and with Sefo, Spong, and Nick Newell set for the Fight City, Nevada promotions 4th event - it's time for the MMA world to take notice. Final Result: Josh Burkman (26-9 MMA, 3-0 WSOF) defeats Jon Fitch (24-6-1 MMA, 0-1 WSOF) via submission (guillotine choke) - Round 1, 0:41) GIF via ZP
