How much of an instigator is Ariel Helwani? Right off the bat he tells GSP that Diaz says he wants an immediate rematch and that he hits like a girl. Which is correct, Nick did say that, but out of context it sounds much more insulting than how Nick meant it in my opinion. GSP did what he needed to do to win this fight against a very dangerous opponent but he did not look as impressive as we have seen him in past fights. He will face Johny Hendricks next and Hendricks style should bring out the best in GSP. Still GSP is a true champion inside and out of the Octagon and always seems to find a way to win.

Cesar Gracie dismissed the notion that Nick Diaz has never paid taxes, and also implied that his fighter may have had a mole in his camp leading up to UFC 158. Gracie, who trains and manages Diaz, made his comments during an interview with Ariel Helwani Monday on “The MMA Hour.” Diaz stole headlines despite losing to Georges St-Pierre Saturday by claiming that he was probably...
Johny Hendricks beat Carlos Condit at UFC 158 via a unanimous decision. He utilized his wrestling and powerful left hand to sway the judges in his favor. The decision was some what controversial since Carlos could have done more damage in the fight, but was taken down multiple times by Hendricks. The fight was very exciting and the decision worked out out as best as it could...
Johny Hendricks was lobbying more than talking trash.
"I want to see you here in five months," Hendricks said immediately after beating Carlos Condit at UFC 158 on Saturday night. "If not, I'll fly to your house, hire a ref and we can do something about it."
There will be no need. Georges St-Pierre and, more importantly, UFC president Dana White, agreed...
Jim Ross has posted his latest blog entry online. Check out the highlights:
On UFC production values: “I have issues with how UFC mic’s their live audience as I feel that the announcers should have to work harder and have to have a more distinct tone and infliction at the loudest moments of the live event. That did not occur. On entrances that are hot, like GSP and Diaz, there...
Johny Hendricks (pictured) and Carlos Condit may have served as UFC 158‘s co-main event on Saturday night, but the welterweights put on the most thrilling performances of the evening.
When the dust settled on their shootout, Hendricks took home a unanimous decision victory and next dibs at 170-pound king Georges St-Pierre’s crown.
Condit’s efforts won’t go without reward...
Two of the most dangerous welterweights on the planet collided last night (March 16, 2013) as Johny Hendricks took on former UFC interim welterweight champion Carlos Condit in the co-main event of UFC 158 in Montreal, Quebec, Canada.
Both men had so much riding on the fight, what with a title shot against the main event winner at stake, and each fighter raised their game to a new...
Georges St-Pierre beat Nick Diaz at UFC 158, leaving Diaz talking about retirement. Is he being serious or just talking like a defeated man?

Comparing someone to a more dangerous Dan Henderson is like duct-taping an A-Bomb to another A-Bomb then dropping it on your target. Or I guess in this case it would like be tying two H-Bombs together, whatever works. As the sport we love moves into it’s second decade of existence, we are only now tapping into the potential of MMA’s talent. Take Johny Hendricks, a young, NCAA...
Georges St-Pierre probably didn't give Nick Diaz the worst beating he's ever seen as promised.
But it was still a victory -- and an overwhelming one at that -- as St-Pierre defended the welterweight title he's held since 2008 with a unanimous decision (50-45 on all three cards) at UFC 158 early Sunday morning.
"He did a great job promoting the fight," St-Pierre...
UFC 158 rocked the PPV airwaves and likely did excellent numbers for the UFC as it was headlined by one of the most anticipated fights of the past couple of years as Welterweight kingpin Georges St. Pierre breezed through his title defense against Nick Diaz.
The UFC has released the main card highlights for last night’s UFC 158 event in Montreal, Quebec. Georges St-Pierre put on a reasonably standard performance, taking down Nick Diaz and controlling him en route to a unanimous decision victory whilst Johny Hendricks and Jake Ellenberger put on impressive performances cementing themselves as top contenders in the division.
Jake Ellenberger, Johny Hendricks and Carlos Condit each earned $50,000 bonuses for their performances at UFC 158 this past Saturday. UFC president Dana White announced the winners after the event. Ellenberger was awarded the ”Knockout of the Night” award for his first round knockout of UFC and Strikeforce veteran Nate Marquardt. With the knockout victory, Ellenberger [...]
