During Tuesday’s episode of FUEL TV’s “UFC Tonight,” it was announced Jake Shields (Pictured) will be taking his talents to the UFC’s middleweight division. The 33-year-old is no stranger to the weight class, as he abandoned his 185-pound Strikeforce belt to sign with the UFC in late 2010. Shields immediately shed 15lbs. to make his big league debut in a welterweight affair against Martin Kampmann. After collecting his 15th consecutive victory, Shields was rewarded with a title fight with reigning king Georges St-Pierre. Although he dropped a lopsided unanimous decision to GSP at UFC 129, Shields can stake claim to co-starring in the largest live mixed martial arts show in North American history. Over 55,500 fans packed Rogers Centre in Toronto, Canada to witness last April’s contest. The jiu jitsu specialist then suffered a 53 second TKO loss to Jake Ellenberger in his next outing.
