It had been said since last year at UFC on Fox 4 when Lyoto Machida weighed in at 201 pounds for his fight against Ryan Bader that he could make 185 pounds. Now you will get the chance to see that. UFC President Dana White announced on Fox Sports Live on Fox Sports 1 that Machida will make his debut in the middleweight division against Tim Kennedy at UFC Fight For The Troops 3. That event will take place on Wednesday, November 6 at the Fort Campbell Army Base in Kentucky. Machida last fought almost three weeks ago at UFC 163, where he lost a controversial split decision to Phil Davis. We had reported last week that Machida was rumored to fight Nick Diaz, but White stated last Saturday that the fight was off the table. Kennedy most recently fought in July at UFC 162 when he defeated Roger Gracie by unanimous decision. A few weeks back, Kennedy called out Vitor Belfort, but Belfort had turned down the fight. The two time Strikeforce middleweight title challenger last week stated that...

Lyoto Machida says he has four or five years left fighting.

On the heels of the announcement that Lyoto Machida will be dropping to middleweight for the first time in his career to take on Tim Kennedy, we have this exclusive interview with the Karate Master telling us about his love for California (the weather is nice) and how long he has left in MMA. “Four, maybe five years. I have (good) health, I try to take care of my body because I...

Matt Brown's career comeback

Within the last week, UFC president Dana White gave welterweight Matt Brown a new nickname, "Mr. FOX," a sobriquet earned after two main-card slots on network TV and a third on the newly launched FOX Sports 1 . Brown, though, would rather be known as something else: UFC champion. That we can even consider that a possibility is a turnaround in line with some of the great...

Greg Jackson talks point fighting: “My fighters are very high finishers”

Greg Jackson is right, his fighters are ‘very high finishers.’ Back in 2007-08, they finished almost 60% of their fights, but in 2012 when Dana White called Greg Jackson a sport killer, there was a lonely dude compiling stats, and guess what? In 2012, Greg Jackson’s team had the worst finishing percentage out of anyone in the sport, and by a fairly large margin. They only finished...

UFC Star Conor McGregor Out 10 Months With Torn ACL

Outside of Milwaukee Brewer superstar Ryan Braun, no other Major League Baseball player is as despised as New York Yankee Alex Rodriguez. Hendo vs. Belfort 2, is close to getting finished over seven years after the first meeting, which took place...

Dana's private TUF 18 screening

Boston was a busy town last week. Between a Red Sox vs. Yankees home series, a preseason home opener for the Patriots against the Buccaneers, the Republican National Committee in town (sharing the same hotel as the UFC, no less), and of course, UFC Fight Nigh t , there was certainly plenty to see. However, one particular event required a very special VIP pass: Dana White's private...
