A featherweight affair between Pablo Garza (Pictured) and Mark Hominick kicked off Saturday’s “UFC 154: St-Pierre vs. Condit” pay-per-view broadcast. Betting Line: Favorite (-) Underdog (+) Pablo Garza +250 Mark Hominick -350 Here is the play-by-play from Garza vs. Hominick: 1stRound: Garza has a clear reach advantage, so let’s see if Hominick can cut the distance. Both exchange leg kicks early. Garza lands a knee while in the clinch. Hominick is starting to find his groove. The Canadian connects on a one-two combo. Garza goes for a takedown, but Hominick ends up on top. Garza attempts an armbar from off his back. Hominick escapes and is punishing his opponent for the submission try. Garza eats a left hook to the body and drops to the mat. Hominick follows him to the canvas and is bringing the pain. Garza gets to his feet and opens up a nasty cut below Hominick’s right eye. 2ndRound: Garza scores on a one-two combo. He takes Hominick to the ground and ends up in full-guard after a scramble. Garza unleashing solid short elbows. Hominick is just getting blanketed. Now he has cuts around both eyes. Good ground-and-pound by Garza – he’s just slicing up Hominick’s face. 3rdRound: Garza plants Hominick on his back. The assault isn’t nearly as vicious as in the prior frame, but Garza is doing just enough to keep the ref from standing them up. Hominick needs a miracle to pull this off. Hominick pushes free, but failed on an omoplata attempt and is on his back again. Official Result: Pablo Garza Defeated Mark Hominick via Unanimous Decision (29-27, 30-26, 29-28)
