Paul Daley (Pictured) made quite the splash in his Bellator Fighting Championships debut. The welterweight slugger quickly disposed of Rudy Bears on Friday night at “Bellator 72” to put his 170-pound peers on alert.
After catching Bears with a couple of punches, Daley unleashed several hard knees while in the clinch. “Semtex” then caught him with a vicious left hook that spelled the beginning of the end.
A barrage of strikes later and Bears was folded over just two minutes and 45 seconds into their shootout.
After his impressive premiere for the promotion, the 29-year-old was chomping at the bit to enter next season’s welterweight tourney.
“I’m looking to get in the tournament and win the tournament. That’s what I’m here to do,” Daley emphatically stated.
Daley bumped his extensive professional record to 30-12-2 following tonight’s TKO victory, but the Brit has only won half of his last six scraps.
