With the UFC hosting two events within the span of four days this week, it’s understandable the Octagon is hoarding most of the MMA headlines. However, with Bellator MMA preparing for their first pay-per-view broadcast, they had parent company Viacom pull some strings so Quinton “Rampage” Jackson (pictured) and Tito Ortiz could go through ESPN’s “carwash” on Monday.
The former UFC light heavyweight champions, who headline Bellator’s November 2 PPV card, hopped on nearly every show offered on ESPN yesterday to promote their upcoming scrap.
On “MMA Live,” Rampage and Ortiz discussed why this fight makes sense at this stage of their careers, putting their friendship aside for the love of money, among many other subjects.
Bellator has plenty riding on the success of this event, and they decided to throw all their eggs in a pair of past-their-prime fighters’ baskets. We’ll see how this roll of the dice works out for them…
