A lightweight bout pitting Thiago Tavares against Khabib Nurmagomedov is expected to be part of the UFC’s January 19th event in Brazil. The match-up was initially reported by Brazilian website Tatame on Friday. Tavares (17-4) has won three of his past four bouts. He last competed at UFC 142 in January where he earned a unanimous decision win over Sam Stout. Tavares, a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu black belt, has notched 11 of his career wins by submission. The undefeated Nurmagomedov (18-0) is set to make his third appearance inside the octagon. He is coming off a unanimous decision win over veteran Gleison Tibau at UFC 148 in July.
