Quinton “Rampage” Jackson may have discovered the fountain of youth after his doctor prescribed him Testosterone Replacement Therapy, but fellow former UFC light heavyweight champ Tito Ortiz (Pictured) claims any mixed martial artist that requires the controversial treatment shouldn’t be fighting for a living.

“I have been fighting for 15 years and there have been trainers that tried to push that on me and I’ve said that if I have to do that kind of stuff, I am done with the sport, I won’t compete anymore because I want to be a natural athlete,” Ortiz told FightersOnly. “For 15 years I’ve competed and taken my drug tests, random drug tests, and passed everything because I am a true athlete.

“A lot of these guys are taking these supplements to make themselves more impressive or whatever, to become the fighters they want to be.”

At one point during Ortiz’s career, he competed in eight consecutive championship affairs inside the Octagon. Because the 37-year-old has been around the block and back, he’d like to offer some words of advice to the next generation that will be carrying the torch after he’s long gone.

“That’s their choice – my recommendation is don’t do it,” he flatly stated. “If it’s against the law or against the sport, don’t do it and if you do have to do it, don’t fight anymore. That’s just my take on it … I will leave it there, I won’t go into it any further.”

While TRT isn’t illegal when accompanied with a doctor’s note, many believe it’s a loophole that’s being thoroughly exploited by many in MMA. Ortiz claims he was able to make it to the top of the totem pole without any assistance, but it seems the game may have changed far too much since his heyday.
