Carlos Condit avenged his first UFC loss in a big way. The former UFC interim welterweight champion defeated Martin Kampmann by fourth round TKO last night at UFC Fight Night 27. Condit got off to a sluggish start in the first round when Kampmann took Condit down and controlled the rest of the round. The second round started with Kampmann trying to secure the takedown again, but Condit was able to stuff the takedowns and was able to control the round with his standup. The third round Condit was able to continue his momentum with Kampmann starting to fade. Condit landed a nice combination that opened up a cut over Kampmann’s eye. Kampmann was able to finally land a takedown, but Condit countered very quickly and took Kampmann’s back. The fight got back to both fighters on their feet, but Condit controlled the rest of the round with his standup.
