As expected, the UFC’s return to Boston will go on as planned. UFC president Dana White (pictured) told they have “everything straightened out” with the state’s officials regarding fighter licensing for their August 17 event inside TD Garden. “You know, when it gets down to the fact, do you want to change the card? You know, do you want to move fights around and switch fights?,” White told the outlet. “When that starts happening, it’s like ‘Yeah, maybe we can’t do the fight here.’ But, you know, we figured it out. “We ended up getting everything straightened out. The fights will happen. The card will be great. It’s going to be good. There’s always something. It literally never ends. There’s always something, something that pops up or whatever. We’re pretty used to dealing with this stuff.” On June 18, ironically the same morning tickets went on sale for “UFC on Fox Sports 1: Shogun vs. Sonnen,” reported the Octagon’s return to Beantown was in jeopardy because state officials were refusing the UFC’s request to bypass rules barring foreign-born fighters from competing in Boston without Social Security numbers. It’s a law the Massachusetts State Athletic Commission was unaware of when the UFC first came to the state in August 2010. It’s also a rule none of America’s other 49 states share. However, fighters can may apply for SS numbers if they have valid visas, and the UFC’s immigration department has been working diligently to ensure their ducks are in order. Nearly half of the card’s roster is made up of foreign-born fighters. The decision for Boston to green light the event was almost a no-brainer. It was reported a UFC card could generate as much as $50 million for the city.  Here is the show’s current lineup: Preliminary Card: (Facebook 4PM ET/1PM PT) Ramsey Nijem vs. James Vick Cody Donovan vs. Ovince St. Preux Cole Miller vs. Manny Gamburyan (Fox Sports 1 6PM ET/3PM PT) Diego Brandao vs. Daniel Pineda Mike Brown vs. Akira Corassani Conor McGregor vs. Andy Ogle Michael McDonald vs. Brad Pickett Main Card: (Fox Sports 1 8PM ET/5PM PT) Joe Lauzon vs. Michael Johnson Uriah Hall vs. Nick Ring Matt Brown vs. Thiago Alves Urijah Faber vs. Yuri Alcantara Alistair Overeem vs. Travis Browne Chael Sonnen vs. Mauricio “Shogun” Rua
