HOMESTEAD, FL - NOVEMBER 21: Kyle Busch, driver of the #18 Z-Line Designs Toyota, celebrates from his car as a crew member brings the championship flag after winning the NASCAR Nationwide Series Championship and the Ford 300 at Homestead-Miami Speedway on November 21, 2009 in Homestead, Florida. He remained up front for almost the whole night and by the time the checkered flag fell, he was the leader. This is Busch’s fifth Nationwide Series victory of the season and his seventh NASCAR win so far in 2013. Busch proved how dominant he can be in this race and this could only be a warm-up for what may come in tomorrow’s Cup race. Other than a few cautions, this race went by fairly quickly. Busch led for about the first 50 laps before his teammate, Matt Kenseth, beat him off of pit-road to snag the lead. The caution that set the lead change up featured another one of Busch’s teammates, Elliot Sadler. Sadler spun in between turn’s 1 and 2, but that didn’t slow him down and he ended up finishing second. After Kenseth had his share of the lead, Busch regained the top spot on lap 82. The fourth and final caution of the day flew on lap 119 for Kyle Fowler who hit the wall in turn 1. More pit stops occurred under the caution and a variety of strategy left the races top players scattered throughout the field on the final restart. Joey Logano had become the new leader after not pitting on the restart and he was able to stay out front until there were 18 laps to go. Busch managed to fight his way back to the lead and he made the final pass for the lead in the race when he got around Logano. Cruise-control was the mode Busch was in for the final part of the race and he crossed the finish line first to take the victory. He is no stranger to victory lane at Darlington and he last won here in 2011. Lots of paint was traded throughout the night and it was a classic, but quick, Darlington race. Busch hopes his success in this race will carry-over to tomorrow’s 500 mile Cup race, but he knows anything could happen. Another Busch sweep could be in-store tomorrow and he started the weekend off on the right foot with this win. More Darlington action is scheduled for tomorrow night and you won’t want to miss it, because it will be one great race.
