DOLLAR GENERAL CONTINUES SUPPORT FOR AUTISM SPEAKS: In support of Autism Speaks, Brian Vickers will be sporting their blue puzzle piece logo on the c-post of his No. 20 Dollar General Toyota this weekend at Dover International Speedway. As a proud supporter of Autism Speaks, Dollar General hosted an in-store campaign to raise money and awareness for the cause during World Autism Awareness month in April. Through that campaign, they proudly raised over $1.1 million for Autism Speaks. BRIAN VICKERS AT DOVER: This weekend, Vickers will return to Dover International Speedway for his first Nationwide Series race at the Monster Mile since 2009. One of his three career Nationwide Series victories was claimed at Dover on September 20, 2003 at the young age of 19. The now 29-year-old has five career Nationwide Series starts at the Monster Mile with one win, three top-five finishes and four top-10 finishes. Vickers is currently fifth in the Nationwide Series Championship point standings heading into this weekend’s 200 lap race. HISTORY MAKING HIGHLIGHT: In June 2012, Joe Gibbs Racing made NASCAR history with a one-two-three sweep in Dover International Speedway’s 200-mile Nationwide Series event. The three-car organization was the first NASCAR Nationwide Series team to ever accomplish this feat. In 2013, JGR was able to match their record with a one-two-three finish at Darlington Raceway on May 10. The organization won both Nationwide Series events at Dover in 2012, and aims to make Saturday their third consecutive win on the one-mile track. DG AIDS IN DISASTER RELIEF EFFORTS: In response to the recent devastating tornado in Oklahoma, Dollar General is making a $100,000 donation to the American Red Cross to aid in their disaster relief. The Goodlettsville, Tenn.-based discount retailer is also collecting relief funds in their stores throughout the end of the week. In addition, Dollar General has provided support for their employees who were affected by the disaster. JOE GIBBS RACING AT DOVER: Joe Gibbs Racing’s Nationwide Series program has 56 starts at the Monster Mile with seven wins, 17 top-five finishes, 27 top-10 finishes and eight poles. JGR Nationwide Series entries have led 1,680 laps of competition on Dover’s one-mile oval. THIS WEEK ON THE NO. 20 DOLLAR GENERAL TOYOTA: Dollar General vendor partners STP, Purex, Capri Sun, Slim Jim, Ragu, Gildan, Oreo, Colgate, Sundown Naturals, Nestle Drumstick, Glad and Finish will be featured on Joe Gibbs Racing’s No. 20 Toyota Camry this weekend at Dover International Speedway. RACE INFO: The Nationwide Series 5-Hour Energy 200 at Dover International Speedway kicks off at 2:30 p.m. ET on Saturday, June 1. Watch and listen live on ESPN, Sirius XM Channel 90 and MRN Radio beginning at 2 p.m. ET. Brian Vickers on Dover: “I’m really looking forward to getting back to Dover this week. I haven’t been to Dover in a Nationwide Series car in quite a while, so I’m excited to get back behind the wheel there. I’ve had a lot of success at Dover, including a win in the Nationwide Series there. I honestly thought we would be further up in the points race and have more wins and top-five’s at this point in the season, but there have been a few races where we’ve not gotten the finishes we deserved. I really enjoy racing at Dover, and I know with Joe Gibbs Racing’s success in the Nationwide Series there, we are hungry for the win this weekend. This week we are focusing on steering clear of mistakes and going home with a win.”
