Team: No. 99 Fastenal Ford Fusion Crew Chief: Jimmy Fennig Primary Chassis: RK-808 last ran in Las Vegas Backup Chassis: RK – 831 Edwards at Kansas: Edwards will make his 12th Cup start at Kansas Speedway this weekend. In his previous starts, Edwards has four top-five and eight top-10 finishes. His average start is 18.5 and his average finish is 10.8. His best finish (second) came in 2008. In the Loop: According to NASCAR’s Loop Statistics compiled over the last 11 races at Kansas, Edwards has turned 115 of the track’s fastest laps which is fifth highest, spent 1740 laps (66.5%) in the top 15 (ninth highest) and led a total of 72 laps (ninth highest). Edwards’ driver rating (95.1) is sixth best among active drivers. The Car: The Aflac team will be bringing chassis RK-808 to Kansas. This chassis last ran in Las Vegas where Edwards took the Aflac Ford to a fifth place finish. Primary Sponsor Note: Aflac returns to the track for their second primary race of the season. Aflac was last seen in Las Vegas with RK – 808 which is also running in Sunday’s STP 400. Edwards quotes on the STP 400: “There would be nothing better than winning in Kansas. That race track means a lot to me. Our team tested there a couple weeks ago. It went pretty well, but it was only our team, so we really don’t know how we stack up, but it’s lightning fast. I think we were 207 or 209 miles an hour at the end of the straightaway there at Kansas, which was really good and really fast. I’m excited to go back there. It’s amazing how much that area has built up and how much is going on there. It’s a neat place and I’ve got a lot of family and friends coming, so that would be huge to win there in the Aflac Ford.”
