Now, there is speculation that the returning champ won’t even make the Chase. Since the Daytona 500, Keselowski has collected five top-five’s, eight top-ten’s, and one did-not-finish. At this time last year he had the same record but what has hurt him this season is fact that he has yet to win a race and has finished twenty-first or worse in seven out of his 18 starts. Being hit with penalties in mid-April of this season did not do any favors for the number two team either. NASCAR handed down major penalties to Brad Keselowski, and his Penske Racing teammate Joey Logano, for illegal parts that were discovered during prerace inspection at Texas Motor Speedway.
