JEFFREY EARNHARDT TO MAKE JRM DEBUT - Jeffrey Earnhardt, the 23-year-old son to Kerry Earnhardt (NASCAR racer from 1998—2009), grandson to seven-time NASCAR Sprint Cup Series champion Dale Earnhardt Sr. (1975-2001), great-grandson to NASCAR Sportsman champion Ralph Earnhardt (1956-64) and nephew to Dale Earnhardt Jr., will make his team debut at Richmond International Raceway with the No. 5 CorvetteParts.net Chevrolet. FAMILY TIES - Jeffrey becomes the fifth member of the Earnhardt family to compete at the Richmond facility. Additionally, he is only the second fourth-generation racer to compete in NASCAR’s top touring divisions. Adam Petty was the first. THE EARNHARDT NAME AT RIR - Richmond International Raceway has been a hotbed of success for the Earnhardt’s. Dating back to Ralph Earnhardt’s first start at the facility in 1957, then a half-mile track, the Earnhardt family has combined to earn 12 wins (Earnhardt Sr. and Earnhardt Jr. each have six), 43 top-fives and 57 top-10s. They also have four poles. CORVETTEPARTS.NET FEATURED ON NO. 5 CHEVROLET - Expanding on its associate partnership with JR Motorsports, CorvetteParts.net is featured as primary sponsor of Earnhardt’s No. 5 Chevrolet at Richmond. CorvetteParts.net is the official website of Keen Parts, a leading supplier of Corvette restoration parts. Owned by Tom and Teresa Keen and based out of Cleves, Ohio, Keen Parts specializes in Corvette restoration parts ranging from vintage 1953 models to customized accessories for today’s Corvettes. The company’s current inventory boasts more than 18,000 parts and accessories. REGAN SMITH COMPETING IN SHORT TRACK SHOWDOWN – This Thursday night Regan Smith will return to his roots and climb behind the wheel of the No. 88 Speedco Chevrolet late model to compete in the Denny Hamlin Short Track Showdown at Richmond International Raceway. All proceeds from the event will benefit the Denny Hamlin Foundation. Tickets are $25. Children 12 and under are admitted free with a ticketed adult. REGAN SMITH AND JEFFREY EARNHARDT AUTOGRAPH SESSION AT JR NATION MERCH HAULER - Fans are invited to meet Regan Smith and Jeffrey Earnhardt for an autograph session at the JR Nation merchandise hauler in the Richmond International Raceway fan concourse, beginning at 2:30 p.m. ET on Friday, April 26, 2013. SMITH AND TAXSLAYER TEAM WARMING UP - Smith’s string of four consecutive top-10 finishes have placed him a mere two markers out of the Nationwide Series points lead. He has one top-five, four top-10s and an average finish of 5.7 in that time span, leading all Nationwide Series regulars in average finishing position and points earned. EARNHARDT’S SHORT TRACK STATS - Earnhardt owns three starts at tracks one-mile in length or less in Nationwide Series competition, with two coming at Bristol Motor Speedway and the other at Phoenix International Raceway. His best short-track finish was a 20th-place effort at Phoenix earlier this year. WIN DALE JR.’S RIDE IS BACK FOR 2013 – One lucky winner will walk away with the keys to Dale Jr.’s Corvette this year. The Dale Jr. Foundation is giving fans the chance to win one of three prizes with the purchase of a $25 raffle ticket, including a shot at Earnhardt Jr.’s own 2013 Chevrolet Corvette Grand Sport. The contest will run through Oct. 1, 2013, with all proceeds benefitting The Dale Jr. Foundation. For complete details visit www.windalejrsride.com. LISTENING EXPERIENCE ON THE AXIS OF JUNIOR - From the communications team at JR Motorsports comes a new way for Dale Jr. fans to get their Junior fix. Dirty Mo Radio is the new online hub for Junior-related podcasts, keeping JR Nation informed and entertained each week throughout the season. Dirty Mo Radio is housed at DaleJr.com and is also available free of charge on all popular podcasting outlets. DMR’s start-up show, “The Dale Jr. Download”, debuted as the No. 2 ranked sports podcast and No. 30 overall podcast on iTunes the day after its Feb. 18 launch. JEFFREY EARNHARDT ON RICHMOND: “This whole experience has been awesome for me. Just to get the opportunity to drive for JR Motorsports, it’s pretty cool. I can’t thank Kelley and Dale Jr. enough for this chance. Hopefully I can go and represent them well and give the fans a good show. The fan response has been overwhelming. I appreciate everyone’s support. My goal this year is to get as much seat time as I can to learn and become a better driver. “I was really surprised when Dale Jr. called me about this. I’ve never really gone and asked for a ride. I want to make sure I earn what I get. Doing it the hard way makes me appreciate this opportunity even more. The past couple years have been tough. All the hard work and the struggles have helped me mature as a driver and a person. We’re going to go out there, have fun and maybe open some more doors in the process.” REGAN SMITH ON RICHMOND: “Richmond is a track I enjoy; it just doesn’t like me back. Short track racing is a lot of fun, but at Richmond it can be a real challenge. It’s still early in the season and we’re keeping the big picture in mind. So for me, I want to leave Richmond with a decent points day. I think a top-10 is realistic, and if things go our way, a top-five is definitely doable. “It will be a lot of fun to compete in the Short Track Showdown on Thursday night. Plus, getting extra laps around Richmond will only help us on Friday night. I want to thank JR Motorsports and Speedco for letting me borrow their No. 88 late model for the night. I’ve had to sit back and watch that race for the past couple years, and I’m thrilled to be competing in it this year.”
