On Paper Brad Keselowski Nascar Championship Victory Race Brad Keselowski can’t lose, can he? It doesn’t matter what anyone else does if he finishes in the top 15. The race today at Homestead is really one big victory lap for the Miller Lite driver. He even fittingly gets to start on the front row after original pole-setter Joey Logano wrecked during practice on Saturday. After last weeks 32nd place finish by Johnson, it all but secured his first championship. Obviously things can go bad fast, but if Keselowski stays safe on the track he should be hoisting that trophy. 4 times has the championship been lost on the last race of the season by the leader but this does not look like it will be number 5. Keselowski has had a season worth a title with 5 wins and 14 top 5 finishes. It also helps when someone who enjoys controversy in his dust ups with Denny Hamlin, among others, is actually winning instead of just yapping. He really has the feel of a Russ Wheeler type guy, but if you win you can get away with it. Upset Potential Shannon Spake Dear Shannon Spake’s agent…get her off the NASCAR circuit and into some more flashy roles. The only person who would be upset is Samantha Steele. With the exit of Erin Andrews, Steele has the floor to herself and the last thing she wants is someone trying to steal some of her spotlight. If ESPN starts to move Spake around a little more and she finds herself in some bigger NFL or college basketball shows then we can finally see her in something besides goofy NASCAR gear. Don’t Bother Watching A NASCAR race If are not a die hard fan who has his/her own set of NASCAR headphones then let me show how you can enjoy NASCAR without boring yourself to death. Step 1: Watch the first 3-5 laps Step 2: Make plans to do something else for about 3 hrs Step 3: Randomly check in and find out how many laps are left Step 4: Watch the last 3-5 laps This will allow you to see the excitement NASCAR provides in 10 laps without the 3-5 hrs of time between the best parts and don’t worry you won’t miss the wrecks, they will be on Sportscenter. Of course, going to a race can be lots of fun if you do nothing more than people watch!
