For the first time ever in his Sprint Cup Career rookie driver Ricky Stenhouse Jr. had the pole for the only Sunday night race of the seaosn. Joey Logano stated that this is a top five car. It hurts a little bit said Martin Truex Jr. on his wrist. At the start of the race Juan Pablo Montoya got the best of the restart and the race lead.  Joey Logano started to get hot and then took over the race lead on lap 25.  On the next lap the competition yellow came out.  The cars all pitted and Juan Pablo Montoya took over the race lead again. As the green flag dropped Kasey Kahne wound up smoking big time as Jeff Gordon had a bad restart that wound up stacking up the field.  Jimmie Johnson and Jeff Burton also got some damage from this.  After the race restarted we got a clean restart and Carl Edwards was leading laps.  At lap 54 Paul Menard hit the wall hard, but did not bring out the caution.  Four laps go by and the Paul Menard car dumps some debris on the race track.  The caution brought in the leaders and Jeff Gordon won the race off pit road. The race restarted and Jeff Gordon was leading laps and at lap 76 Paul Menard left some more debris out on the racetrack for a new caution.   All the cars pit and Carl Edwards wins the race off pit road this time.    The race restarted and Carl was back leading laps.  At lap 101 Joey Logano made an unscheduled pit stop after feeling a vibration. Five laps later and Matt Kenseth does the same thing. At lap 120 the bulk of the green flag pit stops started.  Two laps go by and Carl Edwards pits.  Then Joey Logano picked up the race lead.  At lap; 133 it was Matt Kenseth down pit road for service.  Clint Bowyer was super hot at this time and at lap 139 and he took over the race lead.  Thirteen laps later and then Joey Logano pits.  At lap 162 the bulk of the green flag pit stops started.    After they were over Joey was back in the race lead. The green flag racing continued and Client Bowyer one again was able to get the race lead again.  At lap 193 though it was all over for the Clint Bowyer car as it smoked big time to bring out the caution.  The leaders pit and Carl Edwards was able to win the race off pit road again. "It was ours to lose," said Clint Bowyer. As the race restarted Jeff Gordon tried to get the race lead and it did not work, then Joey Logano tried for the race lead and made it stick on lap 204.  Two more laps go by an d Denny Hamlin spins out.  Joey Logano and Carl Edwards stay out while the rest of the cars on the lead lap pit. This time Brad Keselowksi got the best of the restart and the race lead.  This wound up being another long green flag run where Brad Keselowski wound up leading more laps.  At lap 244 Brad Keselowski loses the race lead to Joey Logano and then Brad complains that his engine is going bad.   Around lap 252 it was green flag pit stop time and after they were over Joey was back leading laps.  The next caution came out on lap 288 for Jimmie Johnson that spins out.  The caution brought in the leaders and Kyle Busch was able to keep the race lead. We get a short green flag run this time and Brian Vickers winds up taking a wild ride though the grass to bring out the caution.  During that short green flag run Kurt Busch moved from tenth to second.    As the green flag dropped the caution quickly came out as Jeff Burton and Austin Dillion get together. The race restarts and Kyle Busch is back leading laps. "This thing was sounding so bad," said Brad Keselwoski who ended his race at lap 311. In the final laps Joey Logano got hot and was able to move up to second place, but ran out of time as Kyle Busch won the race. Kyle Busch stated that he was not happy with car at all at the start of the race. "Big points day for us," said Joey Logano. "Just got away from us a little bit," said Jeff Gordon.
