PLAYERS: Danica Patrick

NASCAR’s Danica Patrick is not going to settle for a top 10 finish if she has a shot a win tonight. She said she intends to be more aggressive if she is in line with a shot at winning the Coke Zero 400. Patrick didn’t show any signs of aggressiveness back in February when she just cruised across the finish line instead of making a move to try and win on the final lap. This kind of thinking has some worried about what Patrick my try to do in the race tonight. One of those people who are concerned is Stewart-Haas Racing owner/teammate Tony Stewart, he doesn’t want Patrick to let the NASCAR fans down. How would making a move let the fans down, it is simple. If Patrick were to fall out of line she could end up finishing way back if no body helps her push to the front. In NASCAR racing, I don’t expect too many to follow Patrick while she makes a push to the front. Some think Patrick is only there because of the popularity she brings to the sport. She hasn’t shown the aggressiveness needed to win a NASCAR race yet and some wonder if she has what it takes to get the job done. I guess we will find out tonight, if Patrick holds true to her word.

  • She needs to refrain from driving waayyy over her head. If she's in the way, she will get mowed down.

NASCAR Bonus Points: Is Danica Patrick a legitimate contender at Daytona?

The taste of Miss Danica Patrick’s pole and 8th-place run in the Daytona 500 still lingers, which means that Saturday’s Daytona event gets her in the spotlight again. On a side note, it is a nice thing indeed to be able to get so much mileage out of a top-10 in a motor sport, pun half-way intended.
