Heading into Saturday evening’s Bojangles’ Southern 500 at Darlington, Jeff Gordon was in the midst of a disappointing start to his 2013 Sprint Cup Series campaign. Two DNFs through the first 10 races of the season, and eight finishes outside of the top-10, had Gordon reeling in 13th in the standings. Outside of Martinsville, where he finished third, Gordon hadn’t really came close to sniffing victory lane.
