Several drivers battled through adversity to post solid finishes in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Kobalt Tools 400 on Sunday at Las Vegas Motor Speedway.
Kyle Busch was a contender in the early stages of the race before he was assessed a speeding penalty on Lap 46. The setback fired the driver up after his pass-through penalty when he restarted 19th and worked his way up to 12th by the...
Kyle Busch is treading in unfamiliar territory.
Granted, there have only been two points-paying races run out of a 36-race schedule, so there is plenty of season left for a driver to change his fortune. However, after two races, Busch finds himself situated all the way back in 33rd place.
That's not a place he's familiar with, or comfortable with.
Therefore, when the NASCAR...
Coming off his first NASCAR Nationwide Series (NNS) victory of 2013, Kyle Busch continued a strong season start on Saturday by earning a second-place finish at Las Vegas (Nev.) Motor Speedway, a track he calls “home.” The second-place result by Busch tied his best NNS performance at the 1.5-mile desert facility – equaling a runner-up result in 2007. He also has one NASCAR Sprint...

Sam Hornish Jr. survived two restarts in the final 15 laps and held off Kyle Busch to win the Nationwide Series race at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway on Saturday.
Hornish led 114 laps in his second career Nationwide victory, but needed a strong finish to outrun Busch, the hometown driver who won the Nationwide race last week in Phoenix.
Hornish and Busch both went aggressively after...
Despite a number of handling issues with his No. 78 Chevrolet, Kurt Busch managed to salvage a 20th-place finish in Sunday’s NASCAR Sprint Cup race at Las Vegas Motor Speedway.
“We just never got up to speed,” said Busch. “The Furniture Row/Serta Chevrolet was loose then it was snug and no matter what adjustments were made we never could find the right balance for this...

Sam Hornish Jr. drove an absolutely dominant car to victory Saturday afternoon, streaking away from Kyle Busch during a seven-lap dash to the finish in the Sam’s Town 300 at Las Vegas Motor Speedway.
The win was Hornish’s second in NASCAR’s Nationwide Series and his first since Nov. 12, 2011 at Phoenix. It was the first Las Vegas victory for Penske Racing in any NASCAR series...
