Allmendinger came into Kansas Speedway ona three-race top-15 finish streak, which included an impressive career-best second-place finish at Martinsville. Saturday morning he found more reason to be happy as he captured the pole for Sunday’s STP 400 with a lap of 175.993 mph. This pole is Allmendinger’s second ever in his Sprint Cup Series career, and he is riding some huge momentum after a sluggish start to the 2012 season.
