Star rapper 2 Chainz has been around during All-Star Weekend. If you don’t know by now, Tauheed Epps (his real name) did have a scholarship to play college basketball at Alabama State. Before the All-Star Game on Sunday, Epps gave Cleveland Cavaliers point guard Kyrie Irving some sick handles and showed how it was done like he did back with Alabama State. Irving has shown he can handle the ball well before, so it looks like he can learn a trick or two from the Atlanta rapper: I dig those Fire Red V’s, 2 Chainz. Truuuuuuuuu. Kyrie Irving Makes Brandon Knight Look Foolish

Brandon Knight is going to be hearing about this one for sometime. It looks like he's playing the shell game on the streets of New York except Kyrie left the shells at home and just used his dazzling handiwork instead. Poor guy--but in his defense this Kyrie Irving kid is pretty good.
PURE DESTRUCTION

Kyrie Irving breaks Brandon Knight's ankles

The BBVA Rising Stars Challenge has turned into a mostly ho-hum affair, due in most part to mixing rookies and sophomores as teammates — thus removing any incentive to play even half-heartedly. Friday was no different, as Team Chuck destroyed Team Shaq by a score of…well, that’s not important. What is important is that around the 5:30 mark of the second half, Kyrie Irving must...

Cavaliers Kyrie Irving Wins All-Star 3 Point Shoot Out Thanks To Byron Scott Of Course Read Now To Find Out How

Nobody can say the Cavaliers young point guard Kyrie Irving can’t rise up to a challenge. Irivng attending his first NBA All-Star game, won the 3 point shot contest last night, it just might have been because of his head coach Byron Scott cared enough to challenge the sophomore NBA player. Iriving claimed victory in the 3 point shoot out and he did it in fine fashion.  The win...

Kyrie Irving makes shots and a few more fans during All-Star weekend

He came, he saw, he left would-be defenders flailing about the floor like one of Ne-Yo’s backup dancers. Cleveland Cavaliers point guard Kyrie Irving arrived upon Houston to join the NBA’s best and showed, instantly, that he belonged in the conversation. Irving may be unassuming. In a land where pyrotechnics and bass-thumping beats are met with strobe lights and giant video screens...

Kyrie Irving Destroys Brandon Knight With Deadly Crossover

Team Chuck destroyed Team Shaq in Friday night’s BBVA Rising Stars Challenge, but it didn’t stop Kyrie Irving for getting some destroying himself for the game. The Cavaliers sophomore point guard had 32 points in the game, along with six assists, for Team Shaq. With about five minutes left to play in the game, the 20-year-old put up one of the most deadly crossovers we...

LeBron’s rave about Kyrie Irving sparks rumors of a possible return to Cleveland

via Miami Herald:   I don’t know about you all but one of the most memorable moments of all-Star weekend was oddly enough LeBron James expansive praise for Kyrie Irving. It seems as though the Miami Herald and a plethora of other sources seemed to have been reminded that there is a possibility LeBron James could return to Cleveland when his contract is up. James can opt out...

Kyrie Irving wins Three-point shoot out

It was a coming out party for Cleveland Cavaliers guard Kyrie Irving. The sophomore left Brandon Knight on skates during the rising stars challenge and took the top spot in the “Footlocker Three-Point Shoot-Out.” Check the highlights:

Kyrie Irving Shoots Down Red Rocket

From the mustache to the swag, I have an infinite amount of respect for Matt Bonner aka the Red Rocket. But like I predicted on Cleveland.com's Sports Insider show with Glenn Moore on Wednesday, Kyrie Irving was just too much for Bonner in the three-point shootout.  The YouTube video—that will one day be what the '94 Mark Price shootout is for me to some kid in...

Kyrie: All-Star weekend was about “putting Cleveland on the map”

“I went out there just being myself. On Friday, I got a chance to do well in the Rising Stars with my teammates. On Saturday, I was blessed to be in the three-point competition. [...] I got going a little bit. A couple of the guys behind me were cheering for me. I knew that I had to bring at least one award back to Cleveland. That was always what it was about: putting Cleveland...

Irving's mentality helped defeat Bonner, win 3-Point Contest

Kyrie Irving was featured in the 3-Point Contest on Saturday night, a skill he's not known much for in the league despite shooting 42% from beyond the arc. The men he was going up against were known for this and probably viewed as favorites for the event, namely San Antonio Spurs' Matt "Red Mamba" Bonner and New York Knicks' Steve Novak. These two reserves don...

Cleveland Sports Life Boat – Cavaliers Point Guards

Sometimes I make bad graphics using PowerPoint. @dgriff13 and @cre8ive_juice eat your hearts out. I am a huge fan of the Ron and Fez show on Sirius XM Satellite radio. They do a bit on the radio called life boat, and I’m borrowing it for Cleveland sports. Here’s how it works. There are four people and only three seats remaining on the life boat. You must work your way through...

While We’re Waiting serves as the early morning gathering of WFNY-esque information for your viewing pleasure. Have something you think we should see? Send it to our tips email at tips@waitingfornextyear.com.   “”This weekend was just basically about earning everybody’s respect and getting a chance for people to see me who don’t usually see me,” Irving said. “We...

WFNY Podcast – 2013-02-19 – Ryan Jones talking all stars, pop stars and former NFL stars

One of the younger, newer WFNY’ers, Ryan Jones, came on the podcast to give the young man’s perspective on the NBA All Star game and a bunch of other stuff. Overall there were a few rough audio moments where Ryan sounded like Max Headroom, but I think we survived. Kyrie Irving and the all star break Live music vs. the album Ryan quotes a Kesha song (No, really.) The VMAs and...

Cavaliers to submit proposal to host all-star game in 2016 or 2017

Jason Lloyd of the Akron Beacon Journal is reporting the Cavaliers will submit a proposal to bring the 2016 or 2017 NBA All-Star game to Cleveland. Last week NBA Deputy Commissioner, Adam Silver, was in Cleveland exploring the possibility of bringing the NBA’s biggest and brightest stars to Northeast Ohio. Silver met with Gilbert and his staff last Friday. One of the questions...
