Celtics Green ...a boston celtics blog.:
Well, tonight's game against Atlanta will be critical. If they lose, they lose a lot more than a game. They lose hope. They can't remain the 7 seed for much longer. Here are tonight's five things:
5. DON'T LET BRADLEY SHOOT:
I can not stress this enough. Avery Bradley can't shoot. I don't need any fancy numbers to prove this. If you just watch a quarter, you'll know exactly what I mean.
4. LET CRAWFORD SHOOT:
Now that Bradley is terrible, it's time to look at Jordan Crawford. Think of him as the new Bradley. He can shoot pretty well and is a nice hustler. Give him as many shots as he wants.
3. ONLY LET TERRY SHOOT OPEN 3'S:
If we've learned one thing this year, it's that Jason Terry isn't the guy they thought they had signed. Terry only has one strength, open threes. But one strength is still a strength. Use it.
2. KEEP YOUR LEADS:
What this team has been terrible at in their last six games is keeping leads. They seem to dominate the first quarter and then slack off in the last three. Keep the effort consistent for the entire game.
1. KEEP BASS HOT:
If Garnett doesn't play tonight, they'll need another big game from Brandon Bass. In Cleveland, Bass scored a team-high 22 points on 8/14 shooting. They need him to keep this good play up.
Tip-off for this one will be at 7:30 pm ET. You can see it on CSN-NE and SportSouth.

Danny Ainge recently said that LeBron needs to stop doing so much complaining, and that apparently did not sit well with Pat Riley, to say the least.
BOSTON — Courtney Lee, limited to six minutes of playing time in his first game back from a sprained ankle, hopped up exuberantly. Chris Wilcox, mostly confined to the bench after starting the game at center, waved his towel enthusiastically. Rajon Rondo, back on the bench for the first time in two months, clapped in his sportcoat.
All along the bench, the Celtics were having a...
Former coach/Heat president Pat Riley and Celtics president Danny Ainge go way back to the old Celtics-Lakers rivalry of the 80′s, and there’s apparently some bad blood still flowing…
Ainge said earlier in the week that it was “almost embarrassing that LeBron (James) would complain about officiating,”
Riley didn’t take to kindly to that remark, and released this statement...
For pretty much as long as I can remember, one of the Celtics biggest weaknesses has been rebounding. Last night Shavlik Randolph pulled down 13 boards in 22 minutes. An amazing 7 of them were of the offensive variety; for comparison in the win at Cleveland on Wednesday the C's as a team had a total of 2 offensive rebounds. Here's what Chris Forsberg of ESPN Boston...
Entering this season many wondered about the role of Jeff Green! How would he play coming off of heart surgery! Would he get enough starts? Could he play at a high level? Would he fit in with the team? Was he worth that trade a few years ago? Well these past few weeks….Jeff Green seems to have answered all those questions with an exclamation point!
First he scored a whopping 42...
You expect bloggers, fans and sports radio hosts to react to LeBron James’ whining about officiating. But an NBA general manager?
Yesterday on WEEI, Danny Ainge joined the fray:
“I think the referees got the calls right. I don’t think it was a hard foul,” Ainge said of the mixups involving James and Heinrich, as well as another one involving James and Taj Gibson. “I think...
A year ago, Jeff Green had life-saving surgery in the city where he hit a game-winning shot for the Boston Celtics on Wednesday night. Green led the Celtics to a 93-932 victory over the Cleveland Cavaliers with a buzzer-beating layup, and he followed the big shot by embracing Dr. Lars Svensson.
Dr. Svensson performed heart surgery on Green at the Cleveland Clinic a little more than...
Next Impulse Sports:
Jeff Green hit a buzzer beater in Cleveland on Wednesday night to lift the Celtics to a 93-92 win, and following the winner he hugged a man who saved his life a little over a year ago. Dr. Lars Svensson was the recipient of a hug, and a well deserved one, as he performed open heart surgery on Jeff last year to mend an aortic aneurysm.

BOSTON - Appearing on Thursday night's Celtics Late Night Show on CLNS Radio, Boston Celtics forward Chris Wilcox proudly announced that Friday will be the one-year mark since his open heart surgery. Wilcox, who missed the later part of the 2011-2012 season due to a heart ailment, believes his health continues to improve every day. "My health is getting better everyday....

The guys behind Picture Planet Studios, Dan Bowers & Van Troung, have been Celtics fans and Red’s Army readers for quite some time. With their first feature film set to release next month, it was a perfect time to feature them on Fan Friday:
How long have you guys been Celtics fans, and who or what got you interested in them?

In a recent interview on WEEI radio, Celtics GM, Danny Ainge, called LeBron James “almost embarrassing” for complaining about foul calls after Chicago snapped Miami’s 27-game winning streak. LeBron James responded at Friday’s shootaround in New Orleans, saying “Nothing that comes out of Boston surprises me,” but Miami wasn’t done firing back. Heat president Pat Riley...
