Tonight, the Celtics will finally return home for a matchup with the Knicks. Both of these teams have struggled recently. Which means that this game should be pretty competitive. I can't wait for it. Here are tonight's five things: 5. HOPE LEE'S HEALTHY: In their loss to Memphis, Courtney Lee didn't play. Now he's no superstar, but his presence on the team is definitely noticeable. When he plays, they always play just a little bit better. 4. HOPE KG'S HEALTHY: Now Kevin Garnett is a whole nother story. In my opinion, Garnett is the Celtics. Now Pierce is pretty Celtic too, but KG usually dictates the team's fate. When he plays good, they play good. They need him back. 3. PLAY BETTER IN THE "MIDDLE" QUARTERS: In this paragraph, I'm going to refer to the 2nd and 3rd quarters as the middle quarters. Anyway, the Grizzlies outscored the Celtics by 14 in these quarters Saturday night. This ruined their night. 2. FIX TERRY'S 3 POINT SHOT: In Memphis, Jason Terry shot just 1/5 from behind the arch. The primary reason why they signed this guy is so that he would make threes. Why is is shot so bad this year? 1. MORE FREE THROWS: On Saturday night, the Celtics shot 24 free throws. That was against the Grizzlies. That same night, the Knicks only shot 23 free throws against the Raptors. Looking at those numbers, it appears that the Celtics are the better foul drawing team. Keep it up. Tip-off for tonight's game will be at 7:00 pm ET. You can see it on TNT.

Kevin Garnett out two weeks with ankle inflammation

No chance, either....

Where are the Boston Celtics Now? 5 on 5

Paul Pierce, Celtics Struggle to Maintain Effort, Focus Without Kevin Garnett as Injuries Mount

BOSTON — Avery Bradley did not try to pinpoint any one area in which things went wrong for the Celtics on Tuesday. Neither a massive disparity in second-chance points nor the Celtics’ carelessness with the basketball was the first reason provided by the third-year guard when he was asked the open-ended question of how a competitive game unraveled so quickly. “We weren’t playing...

Celtics plummet to #14 in ESPN's NBA power rankings

Bob Cousy, #14 After spending the past two weeks in the #9 position, a four game losing streak has dropped the Celtics five spots, all the way down to #14 in Marc Stein's NBA power rankings for ESPN.  With the news just out that Kevin Garnett will likely miss some time (Doc said 4-5 games wouldn't surprise him), Stein probably wishes he had Boston even lower. At 36-33...

The New Age of Scouting

Despite the bitter playoff losses Celtics fans have suffered over the last 4 years, there's one thing we too often forget: this was only supposed to be a 3 year run.
