The season hasn't even started yet, and the Celtics, who are relying on good health this season, have their first injury:Boston Celtics forward Glen Davis was sent for X-rays on an unspecified hand injury Monday, according to multiple reports, and it is unclear at this point how much time he will miss.According to a report in the Boston Herald, which cited unnamed sources, the injury was to Davis' right thumb and was suffered in an non-basketball-related altercation with a friend. Davis was reportedly defending himself. The Herald also reported that surgery could be required and Davis could be lost for a significant period of time. So, what the frig was Davis doing? Was it his new MMA workout with his girlfriend, and she was kicking his ass? Did that kid's father from Orlando track him down? Whatever it was, it sounds like it's very possible that Davis could be sidelined for a bit. On the bright side, if the Celtics have a spot of depth, it's at the four.
