Filed under: Celtics, Kings, NBA RumorsIn retrospect, Danny Ainge has executed no trade as brilliant as the one which in essence sent the fifth pick in the 2007 draft and Delonte West to Seattle for Ray Allen. It was a huge risk at the time: Allen had come off double ankle surgery, at age 31. The player the Celtics were purported to be leaning toward in the draft -- Yi Jianlian -- was a highly coveted mystery. It wasn't a no-brainer, like the Kevin Garnett-Al Jefferson deal.Ray has been utterly healthy since coming to Boston, though -- he's played in 94 percent of the Celtics' games in the 2-1/2 seasons, just two games fewer than ironman Paul Pierce and a full 35 games more than the younger Garnett. And he's been good, too, a key component of the 2008 title run and a stunningly efficient weapon in 2009.

Lakers fan: C's should keep Ray Allen for one last ride
Craig Kwasniewski of The Association is one of the biggest Lakers fan around. He's a loyal season ticket holder, probably owns a Magic Johnson jersey or eight, and is a proud card-carrying member of "Celtics Hater." Which is why it was surprising to see Kwasniewski list a few reasons why the Boston Celtics should keep Ray Allen and give "The Big Three" one...
Celtics Should Keep Ray Allen for One Last Ride with The Big Three
By Craig Kwasniewski The Celtics are going through a ruff patch. KG and Pierce are both banged up, Ray Allen's looking very, how should I say this, looking very Derek Fisher these days and the C's can't seem to protect...
Allen a hot topic
As the NBA’s Feb. 18 trade deadline approaches and the Celtics continue to show they may not be capable of winning a title as currently constructed, president of basketball operations Danny Ainge is fielding an increasing amount of calls, especially on shooting guard Ray Allen.

Comments from the Other Side - Magic 2/7
HUGE game, nothing else to say.
A win here would also give the Magic the season series 3-1 and any tiebreaker if they have identical records. I would love for Boston to be #4 so they have a good shot at playing Cleveland in the second round. A win here would help do this.
I'm not big on stressing the importance of individual regular season games, but today's...
