James Posey not feeling the love from Boston

After winning the NBA Championship with the Boston Celtics, James Posey was expecting some love in the form of a new contract. Unfortunately, Boston doesn't feel that he's worth more than the $5.8 that they have offered him. Posey, is a bit upset that the money is being flaunted at Clippers forward Corey Maggette instead of one of the key defenders on the championship team. Is Posey worth more than Maggette? Is Boston making a mistake by not pursuing him more heavily?

Posey was an important part of that championship team, so i would get him back. Maggette may not even take the offer, so then use that money for Posey.

good quick to the point post THeels...summed up whole situation in those two sentences...FLCelts said he heard Maggette leaning towards Spurs, but fielding all offers from contenders...the guy wants a ring after Clippers super max lockdown...6 teams can do that for CM...if they signed Posey or Maggette today, life would be good...one side point, getting Maggette could produce one I dig scenario: Allen as sixth man, so PP, CM, KP, KG, RR as starters as Allen could be managed minute wise...with Posey, no such scenario, as he is sixth man...aaargh!!!

Bring Back POSEY to the Heat!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Come to Portland James Posey, we need you now that James Jones is probably leaving. This guy is an absolute perfect fit in Portland.

poseys the number one priority for the celtics. we need him backkkk

foremost sports issue on my mind...torn, want both, can't happen...one thing, the FO better treat Posey fairly...so, if he leaves, it would be in an honest and equitable way...Corey, C's need one or the other...if they blow it and do not sign either, even though team won, knowing Boston Sports media, there will be grumblings on our never satisfied sports town...and is it me, or are the Sixers going to get everyone under the sun I'm seeing with FA heating up

If the Celtics wish to keep their great team chemistry going then they will bring Posey back for sure!

no doubt Deatrice, JP has that special spice I was saying the other day, the chemistry is why C's have to do everything capable of getting him re-signed, but not looking good per his agent

Gotta balance the team chemistry with the payroll and future planning. He's a bench role player, albeit a critical one. I'm sure they're doing what they can to keep him.

Posey's tough defense and clutch shooting was critical in Boston's championship run. I can't see why they would let him get away.

his Old team the Denver Nuggets could definitely use him, too bad they don't have any money to spend, period.

Posey is a journeyman that fills any role a team has for him. He's good at it. Boston will miss him, but they will keep rolling without him. They have a good mix of young and older players.

FIVERINGS Finally someone I agree with. Posey is a great role player but thats it . From reading the articles in the yard you would think Rondo and Posey were Magic Johnson and James Worthy. Not to knock Posey because he was huge in the playoffs and if I was Boston I would try to resign him.

who ever dosent sign with boston should sign with the sixers haha

Posey is going to LA.

Maybe Golden State should throw some more money at people they won't get

I think it's a good idea for the Celtics to re-sign James Posey. Firstly, Corey Maggette has been the perimeter go-to guy for the Clippers. It is not known whether he will be able to subjugate his game to The Big Three. Also, Maggette is the more explosive athlete and finisher, but he is by far the lesser defender and three-point shooter than Posey. Posey's defense, length, shooting, hustle and floor-running are what the Celtics need to repeat, and Maggette isn't nearly as good in those regards.

It makes sense for the Celts to sign Maggette and let Posey go if they are grooming their future star (a la Reggie Lewis), but I'm pretty certain that Maggette has peaked. He doesn't have the finesse or floor game to bring the championship impact that way Ray Allen or Paul Pierce did for Boston last season.

Boston, unless what James Posey is asking for is totally outrageous, re-sign him!

It really sounds mediocrity to me that a maggette is to be signed in and let Posey go wich is not a good thing to me its better they add the Maggette pay and give it to Posey coz to me if it wasnt for Posey i didnt see Celtics going through and they have to appreciate the fact that he was the best and they have to offer him what he deserves.

Posey in purple and gold.

this is ridiculous not to bring this guy nback, give him the money then we can worry about the fill ins later. the celtics are a disgrace in not giving this guy a big contract. he deserves it and is very very important to pour team.

Yup purple and n gold by midnight tonight.

LA could be his new haunts for sure...He can teach them how to play D, the kind needed to win a title
