We've all heard the names before. "Ball hog", "Arrogant", "Selfish." The only thing is the "haters" were right. The Lakers most recognized player, jersey number 24 (formerly known as 8) was all those things however that was pre-MVP Black Mamba. While you can count on Kobe to be the go to man and put up 50+pts on a given night to carry his team to victory (see the 61pt record setting performance he dropped on the Boston Celtics at the Garden back in February) you can also rest assure that he will dish the ball out to you to let you get your shine on (ahem, see Lamar Odom, Trevor Azria and Paul Gasol game performances of late).
There's valid hate then there's hate from disgruntled ex-Lakers' players jobless or otherwise. Ask former Lakers' guard, Smush Parker. "Tell em, why your mad son! tell 'em why you're mad!"

**Breaking News - Dwyane Wade will not play tonight **The Heat face the Boston Celtics tonight at the Garden. The Heat had an impressive win against Boston in Miami over a week ago led by Dwyane Wade. The Heat will need toband together as Wade will not be playing. Boston Celtics All-Star Representative
Paul Pierce has earned his fifth consecutive trip to the All-Star game. Pierce scored 19 points in just over twenty minutes in his first All-Star appearance. He is a great choice to represent the Boston Celtics because he is having the best year of his career shooting over forty percent and racking u...
Wiz-Cs Part IV
Big game tonight at Verizon Center - for the Wizards at least - with the Boston Celtics in town. Antawn Jamison participated in the morning shootaround today and will start. There won't be a dramatic, Arenas-like entrance. He won't come in wearing a sling on his arm, rip it off then flex fo...
Let the Big Brown Conspiracies Begin
What happened to Big Brown in last Saturday's Belmont Stakes was the horse racing equivalent to what would've happened to the Boston Celtics had Paul Pierce stayed on the floor in a writhing pile of knee injury.
And like most great sports WTFs, the conspiracy theories must abound.
Not a game…we’re talking about Twitter
“We’re talking about Twitter here.” That was Charlie Villanueva’s comment regarding Bucks coach Scott Skiles‘
decision to ban the use of Twitter during games, after Villanueva’s
half-time “tweet” during Sunday’s victory over the Boston Celtics.
Villanueva’s response sounds comically similar to Allen Iverson’s
“practice” rant, and although the Milwaukee...
Benny The Bull takes aim
When I awoke this morning, I was prepared to write about how the Bulls have to find someway to contain LeBron James-he is averaging 38 points against them- but I got an interesting message that told of Bulls mascot Bennie, firing T-shirts out of a cannon at Boston Celtics forwards James Posey and Ke...

Celtics Have Easy Time With Grizzlies
Boston Celtics: After a big third quarter, the Boston Celtics used an 11-4 run to start the 4th to beat the Memphis Grizzlies 105-87 at FedEx Forum in Memphis, TN. Glen “Big Baby” Davis led the Green with 24 points and former UConn Husky Ray Allen had 20. Eddie House chipped in with 15 points [...]
Glen Davis
I didn’t see a second of this game - so I’ll leave the analysis up to the Associate Press:
Glen Davis scored 24 points on 8-of-11 shooting, and the Boston Celtics pulled away in the second half for a 105-87 victory over the Memphis Grizzlies on Saturday night.
Ray Allen added 20 points and six assists, while [...]
Celtics Get Past Spurs 80-77
Boston Celtics: Key missed free throws by the San Antonio Spurs gave the Boston Celtics an 80-77 win in Kevin Garnett’s return to the lineup in San Antonio. Garnett played only 15 minutes in his return scoring 10 points and pulling down 4 rebounds. Also back in the lineup was former UConn Husky Ray Allen [...]
Pistons Edge Celtics, 87-85
In a game that had the feel of an Eastern Conference Finals Game 7 the Detroit Pistons nipped the Boston Celtics, 87-85 when Chauncy Billups knocked down two free throws with 00.1 seconds left on the clock.
Billups got to the line because Cetics captain Paul Pierce missed a fall away jumper with 1.7 ...
Trail Blazers lose close game to Celtics, 100-90
While this game adds one more to the loss total, the Portland Trail Blazers learned something very important tonight: they belong.
The Trail Blazers (23-15) gave the Boston Celtics (31-6) a run for their money but fell short, losing 100-90.

The Squads
'Tis the season for picking all-stars. To make my starting lineup, the player must have appeared in at least 40 games. I want no part of players who have spent a significant chunk of the season in business-casual. That means Carmelo Anthony, Michael Redd, Yao, and Lamar Odom don't make the cut. There...
